I bought this Samurai after it had been wrecked. It had been T-boned on the passenger side. We welded the rear and took it on a trailride up Schoodic mountain. I only took it halfway up, due to overheating issues But it only snowballed from there. I recently went Sprung over, had new Yukon 5,38 gears put in the front chunk, and swapped in a Narrow track Jeep 44 rear that is filled with a lincoln locker and 5.38s as well. i plan to change to a Waggy 44 rear within the next year. It currently sits on 235-75 15 freebies that I wheeled with all last winter and fall until I spun the No1 rod bearing.

Well, I suppose that Its time for an update. Last winter, I killed off another 1.3. I decided to go through a new shortblock, and do it all over the right way. I was about halfway done building the new motor, and getting the Zook ready to have the third motor put in. At this time it was still running with the junk motor in it and two rod bearings knocking. I was pulling it out of the yard and the engine siezed. Interestingly, the bottom end was free and the Head locked up. I swapped on a new head, and a used timing belt. Spun over like a champ, but no fire. No spark. Changed coils. Checked my wires, Checked that the dist was turning. Nothing. Swapped on a different dist. Finnally I decided that It had to be the module and when to pick one up. they wanted 270 for a new one.

I said to hell with it- finished the new 1.3 and Put it in the rafters. I swapped in a GM 2.5 and a 435.
