here sits the 1967 buick lesabre........yes it's a 4 door.....yes it's a boat...
here are a few of the things i'm going to do
1.molded pillar pods into the windsheild pillar
2.15 inch 100 spokes
3.lowprofile white wall tires
4.shave all the lettering
5.fenderskirts shaved in permanently
6.shaved rear door handles it might make it look like a 2 door from some distance
7.1950 belair rear antenna sort of like the ones they put on the impalas
8.fiberglass the kickpanals for speekers
9.going to be cleaning up under the hood with all powder coat
10.air ride all around
11.new paint with some pinstrips old skool style
i'll have all of this hopefully completed by Aug or Sept of 2005
***UPDATE****ok june 2006 is now right around the corner and the car isn't done.....and the list above has changed some.
1) is getting a full shave, everything is going handles and locks. i'm not going to use poppers though i don't like them so i'm going to be putting in power windows on remote with some cool switches for the inside of the car that use the cranks i picked it all up from "autoloc" the cost was reflectd in going with a big name for that kind of stuff but i figure they have a good tech support so if i run into any hold up's i'll have some help.
2) the fender skirts can't be shaved in for the fact that i won't be able to change the tire without taking down the whole rear end. so untill i figure out how i want to make the rear drop low enough to get the tire off i'll have to make the skirts removable.
3) the old belair/impala rear antenna is going to waight it's somthing i don't think i'll have much of a problem with adding even after the paint is done.
4) the kick panels i took out and started messing around with and wasn't able to do what i wanted so for now the entire intiorer is waighting for me to get done getting gressy
5) paint.....the top is getting a thick off white pearl and the body is going with a green candy metal flake, old skool 60's style
this is the 340 4 barral it's got an old 300 CFM carter carb on it, and it was in need of a rebuild, i figured the car would be better off with a holley
this is the holley lowrider avenger model, it's a 670 CFM and it runs real nice
ok next is the pillar pods, i bought the pods and the guages and with a bit of fiber glassing i've ended up with some sweet pods have to get that into the vehicle still though pictures of it will be added soon
just what i wanted and it looks even better in real life. i've put some thought into the guages and i'm going to be replacing the ones that you see here with some stuart warner period correct green line guages. they'll look good in a green car and there what Ed big daddy Roth used in a few of his cars.
just found this poster and bought it, i think it's kind of rear, every one has posters of the more popular models and this model is hard to come by
put the pods in and wired it up looks sweet....needs paint though i'm doing the interior paint last, and it might be a while it can wait for winter
i cut a section out of the steering wheel it looks kind of trick i'm going to be replacing the wheel and that one has a few cracks anyway, also added a 14 ball "very nice"
removed all of the little stuff getting ready for sanding and some fabricating, it was nice to be able to see exactly what it was going to look like without the door handles
got into cleaning up under the hood with POR-15 it's a little bit of work but it ends up looking great i did the fire wall, under side of the hood and the front clip that holds the fenders on. the front clip is wht really needed it, it had sat for some 10 years with the batery roting a hole strait through it. i'm also thinking about cutting out the inner fenders to give me more room for when i lay frame. i might replace them with some chome trailer fenders but i'll have to see what kind of room i have when the time comes
here are the bags that are going to make all the magic happen
my compressor and air tank......they didn't do a very good job of painting the air tank, there are runs all over the place,,,,,i'm going to powder coat it anyway
this is called a "wolf witsle" i got rid of the factory horn, i'm not to sure if it'll pass inspection with this as the horn but it sounds like a "cat call" you know when you wistle at the ladies ya only louder
