These are just a couple photos I took on the morning of Thanksgiving, 2004. Here you see how the car sat after most preliminary modifications had been done, but before the fresh paint job.
*UPDATE* 5/10/2005
These are two photos the paint shop took before they started to dig in to the project. (Note dent in fender and scratches along door) I know what you may be thinking: Why did I have the whole car repainted when it looked so nice aside from the new injuries?
Because!! What you can't see in all these photos are the countless blemishes inflicted on the paint over the course of its 127K mile life. Those blemishes include (aside from the dent and scrape) spattered rock chips on the front, three large key marks on the passenger side, a large scrape on the front bumper, and holes in the front bumper where a license plate used to belocated. That's not to mention the difference in red hues between the front/rear bumper and the rest of the body caused by sun fade and time.
All things considered, I felt I had to just paint the whole car and be done with it.
All stripped down and lookin scary!! I'm so glad I didn't see it in person during this stage of progress.
The (Nearly) Finished Product- These pictures were taken during the trip home and moments after I pulled into the driveway upon return from the paint shop.
What's Coming Soon. . .
To hear what this turbo will sound like, left click on this link: Supra T51R KAI turbo vs. 351 Cobra. This video actually inspired me to buy this kit, mine is identical to the one you hear in the black supra.
*UPDATE: 6/5/2005*
Had the turbo ground down and polished, thought I'd approach a different look with the T51R KAI compressor housing.
