To start with, the first thing the car recieved was a new stereo system, as the only radio in the car was my backseat boombox. I had already purchased an in dash dvd navigation unit and had an extra 7inch lcd screen, so i ditched the center vent for the heat/ac and replaced it with my in dash unit using a custom made fiberglass trim piece. At the same time i painted a few trim piece silver and swapped out the orange dash lights for some blue leds.
next step was a set of jdm gto taillights and a 99 3000gt center taillight garnish panel. the jdm taillights were also retrofitted with a set of led bulbs for a more modern look.
After running over a screw i on my already bald tires i realized i needed some new tires badly, but seeing as the chrome on the wheels was peeling off i decided to replace the wheels and tires. The vr4 has a very large 4 piston brake on it making wheel selection very limited. After seeing a set of moda r6 wheels on another vr4 spyder i knew they would fit and decided i wanted a set of my own. So on they went. Too much wheel gap for my liking though.
Next step was to replace the damaged front and rear bumpers. the rear was replaced with an identical bumper, and luckily i was able to transfer the extremely rare spyder logos to the new bumper. For the front i went with a little more drastic change. I replaced the front end with a 99 front end. This consisted of a new bumper, headlights, turn signals, bumper inserts and some new brackets. During this 99 conversion i also upgraded the front lighting system too. The turn signals were fitted with leds as were the rears and the headlights were fitted with a 6000k hid lighting kit.
Mitsubishi likes to paint the 99 bumper in red from the factory, too bad i don't have a red car. so off to the body shop it went
Shes kinda ugly without her face, But when it was done it turned out amazing.
After replacing the front end i had to go out and get some really cool shots, these ones are my favorites
Can't forget the perfornce aspect though, a twin turboed v6 is a fine piece of machinery and I want mine to run as good as possible So i did a tune up and threw in some upgraded spark plugs and wires along with a k&n air intake. Also added a 3sx downpipe to replace the crappy downpipe on the car. and of course i threw in a greddy type s bov, because you can't have a turbo car without that little pshhhh sound.
The car is never done though, next on the list is some fancy brake rotors and some lowering springs, and maybe a cf hood to replace hood that is slightly dinged up.
