This is my 1957 Chevy Bel Air "Bel-la." I have had the car since early 1992. I got it from a friend after we return from the Phillippines. I traded a 1969 Cutlass for the car and have only regreted it once. The car spent most of its life in the Philippines. It was shipped by a service member in 1962 from California and stayed there until 1991 when it was returned to the states by another service member. That is where I come in. Once I got the car I drove it for awhile and started the restoration project. At first just a simple small block 350 chevy and 350 trans, but after some serious thinking I tore the car apart ridding it of the carbed 350 in favor of a more modern drive train. After taking the body off the frame I've stripped it to the metal and replaced most of the major body panels. I had the frame sand blasted and coated. A donor LT-1 motor, trans, computer from a 1995 Caprice 9C1 (cop car) has been installed. The motor is running and awaiting the driveshaft to return from being shortened, so I can have a complete rolling frame. The following photos are areas I had some rust or dent/pitted damage.

Future work will include full exhaust, deletion of the smog equipment and of course paint... More to follow...
