Haruna is the real name for the Akina mountain.Mount Akina is a hill located in eastern Japan. Its real name is 榛名 or Haruna. The hill is named in the anime Initial D as 秋名 or Akina. Mt. Haruna-san is a dual volcano, It is also one of the Jomo Three Mountains, the other two being Mt. Myogi-san and Mt. Akagi-san. In the caldera, it is flat, and Haruna-Fuji at the central volcanic cone and Lake Haruna-ko, a crater lake, are points worthy of note. On the lake, you can enjoy boating, skating, and anazuri fishing of pond smelt, and you can also enjoy cycling around the lake. why they called it Akina in Initial D? but perhaps it was to reduce the number of rev-heads flocking to Haruna to wreck their cars or kill themselves. As it stands you cannot really race there anymore, traffic control measures (severe measures) have apparently been put into place to prevent speeding. The same goes for the other popular racing spots.
