Project $250: Bring a 1990 Mitsubishi Galant GSX back to life!
Q. What is project $250?
A. Project $250 is a summer project that I have placed upon myself (since I lost my prior Galant to a dumbass driver) to show all the fools in this world that just because a car does not run does not mean it can't be fixed cheaply and show the world how badassed these cars really are (only thing better than these are the Galant VR4s, oooh I think I just wet myself!).
Q. The purpose of this site?
A. The purpose of this site is show periodic updates on how my progress is going over the course of the summer on fixing it up.
Q. What is the goal of Project $250?
A. The goal of this project is to get this car running nicely and completely fixed (powertrain wise) for less than $1,000. $250 has already been spent hence the title of this project. List of project management is shown below.

Things to be accomplished:

-rebuild cylinder head
-replace all timing components
-replace water pump
-replace all brakes and rotors
-replace struts
-add all new belts and hoses
-and other things ill update later
The story behind Project $250:
Being a current summer intern for the great company ConocoPhillips in Borger Texas doesnt leave you with much options for your free time. Sure the work at the refinery is a great and pay is a little greater but this town sucks ass. For those fo you that dont know anything about Borger Texas it is pretty simple, small West Texas shittown that has absolutely nothing here except for a smell of sulphur in the air and an occasional tumbleweed! Lol, it isnt that bad btu anyways..... I found this bad boy on ebay (resided in Lubbock, cant we ever get the hell out of West Texas??) which I have won for $250. With my brothers help with getting discount auto parts and my engineering genius I plan on having a nice little mover here by the end of the summer without investing more than $1,000 on all expenses (includes the tow from Lubbock to Borger).
Information about the car:

-has a cracked windshield

-no real bad body damage except for the rear drivers side
-broken radio antennae
-A/C condenser broken
-Cylinder head is bad (timing belt broke)

-interior fabric is immaculate, this was a big surprise especially since car is 15 years old and I found all the ash trays loaded with cigarettes. there were no cig burns either! (i say kill all the bastards that throw cigareetes out their windows!)
-it seems that the drivers side front wheel is out of alignment, there is some scary tire wear here.
-drivetrain seems to be functioning properly
-can't see any noticeable fluid leaks in engine area or rear differential (these cars are AWD is that not cool?)

More tidbits:
I still have a lot of my old 1993 Galant ES components. So I plan on utilizing lots of this stuff for my new GSX. Especially the AC system and other materials as simple as plastic trim pieces.

Conclusion:
This is going to be a great learning experience and a way to spend some time focusing on other things besides work. I think it'll be neat for you all to watch the progress and if you all doubt me I say go kiss my ass because it will be done and I will make all the Honda Civics tremble! (lol, at least the civics!)
