Another roadrunner340 1978 Chevrolet Camaro post...
This car has literally been around the world. Built in Van Nuys, CA, sold new in Tokyo, Japan (where I bought it in 1991), took it to Korea in 1999, shipped it to Germany in 2000 (by way of the Indian Ocean...4 months on the boat!), then shipped it to Houston in Jan 2005 and trailered it to its new home in San Antonio. That might not be full circle around the world, but its freakin' close.
The car underwent a 2 year rebuild in Japan in 1998/1999...new 383, Bowties, trans, rear end, Rancho Suspension...the works. Blew the tranny in Korea, the engine on the Autobahn in Germany. New engine Sep 04...lost the oil pump regulator plug after 2 weeks so the engine was toast. Although it has a little road rash (mainly from being in Korea) it still looks pretty good.
New engine is currently on the stand and transmission is in-progres on the bench. Maybe before summer I'll have it completed.
