This is my 1992 Flash Red VR6 Corrado
I had engine problems from the start, so i shipped a refurbished engine from Germany in and had it installed for $3200, so really there are only about 35000 miles on the car, and believe it or not, the engine is still under warranty! thats right a '92 still with a warranty. This car is amazing, it is so fast, and with the cold air intake it sounds great,(quiet when you want it to be, but when you lay the pedal down, people know.) my heater core recently blew up and I had to have that replaced, but VW being the good company they are paid for the $800 repair in full, and even gave me a full tank of gas for my trouble. Well enough about the bad, The previous owner had the neuspeed racing chip installed so i couldnt tell you the difference with it. bought Neuspeed springs which lowered it an inch. Then I put a Neuspeed sway bar,and Falken Ziex all season racing tires. Also Neuspeed Coils that lowered it an inch.(Never driven another car that handles so tight) I came on a chrome intake pipe and a big K&N air filter for the VR6 on ebay for like $80, gotta love ebay. I bought some Blue Igniter spark plug wires that look great and are also very reliable. I recently threw on some 17 in Flik Lex wheels and they look clean. The guy that owned it before me dropped the Euro styling headlights in for me, for about $600 and they look sweeet when their on. Then I worked on the sound system. I put a $250 dollar Alpine head unit that was ipod compatible, and it puts out 50x4 watts, that I run to two 4", and 2 6.5" top of the line aftermarket Infinity speakers which I mounted in the trunk cover I've never seen anyone do the same thing(But feel free to use it). Then i did monster cable throughout the car to every component. I put a 10" Rockford Fosgate, Punch, subwoofer in, powered by an 800 Watt Alpine amp. Well the idiot that sold this all to me at Soundtrack, didn't calculate the wattage right, and my amp was way to much power for the sub, my sub lasted for 4 months, and it started making a really nasty sound. I took it in, they said it was blown. So I played the role of a poor high school student Well that worked well because for 12 dollars more, I came out with Dual 12" Rockford Fosgate PUNCH subs. And man do they hit hard.(I had to reinforce around my license plate to keep it from rattling off, haha, and I'm proababy gonna do DYNO mat all around the edge of the back hatch to stop any rattling.) Man does it sound ever good. I love listening to music in it. I threw some cool Neuspeed, and Grateful Dead VW stickers on it, and I'm mighty happy with it. Eventually if there is even a turbo that exists for a 1997 VR6 engine, I would love to have one. Maybe ill put an indash LCD in it as well. All you other VW fans and Corrado owners ROCK ON! There arent enough Corrado's out there, so pick one up if you find one, their sweet rides. Heres some pics of my 'rado before i cleaned it up.
