here are some more comments about our Daihatsu Rocky "ferosa"

1. Durable without demanding much attention.
2. A city styled car, that can take an off-road beating.
3. Will continue to drive this great car as long as possible.
4. Seems that it will go forever if properly maintained.
5. It's not a speed machine, but it does its job.

This vehicle is serious fun and very comfortable despite its
size. The engine is a bit slow, but the thanks to its 5 speed
transmission it doesn't seems that way. This vehicle turns a lot
of heads and it's actually a good 4x4. The engine is durable.
It was a surprisingly capable vehicle off road. The only thing
letting it down was that the tyres were a bit too small for
some of the larger ruts.Great torque from idle to 3600 rpm.

I've ever driven it at a moderate climbing road about 70
kilometers at 100 to 125 kph. and work really well. Even I used
only the 5th gear, no need to shift down because of its great
torque. When at the peak power,it runs like a locomotive and is
able to chase other fast cars especially in climbing.

It's not a speed machine by any measure. But it does the job
that was intended. Many people riding in the back or front;
have complained about the smoothness of the ride, but it didn't
take me long to get used to it.

The Rocky is definitely no rocketship.

Its strong points are reliability, economy and off road ability.

Although a harsh sounding motor, the diesel is a gem off road
with plenty of power on the beach and torque that will climb
over nearly anything.

The only reason I would not buy another Daihatsu is that my
next 4x4 will need to be larger, and Daihatsu do not offer
anything larger than this.

Before you proceed know what the F300 can do by clicking this link...

http://www.geocities.com/daihatsurp2000/Feroza/index.html

A serious 4x4 off-road vehicle. It has 10 gears through high
and low transfer box which complements the 5 speed manual
transmission, automatic free wheeling front hubs (some models
have manual locking front hubs) and enough torque to pull a 15
foot speed boat. It also has a limited slip differential or LSD.

Nothing, be it wet sand, deep mud, 30° inclines or 30 inches of
water will stand in its way. Riding on huge for the Feroza’s
size is 195/R15 tires (it can be also equipped with 225/70R15
tires or bigger.

HARD TOP REMOVABLE, can climb, anywhere anytime.
Also sometimes.. at times.. it can be custom built for some
speed/power... as shown below
