This is my 96 Miata which is a work in progress. I plan to make it my Saturday Night Special/Track Car. It's pretty much bare right now except it has been stitch welded and the HardDog Deuce has been installed. I also have the interior carpet replaced as the OE stuff stank which leads me to my story on how I came to have this Miata......

I purchased my Miata from Roseville Mazda in Sacramento CA. It was quite an ordeal. I found the Miata on the KBB used car site. I called the dealership to inquire about the car. All I needed was for the car to have less than 75000 miles, non-smoker and the be free from major scratches, dings and dents. The sales person assured me it was. I told him I was traveling from Fresno CA which is a 2.5 hour drive, so the car better be as described. Well, it wasn't. First, it was a smoker and well as a pet lovers car (short dog hair everywhere). Next there were obvious touch ups in the paint. The car hadn't been in any accidents, but like I said, it wasn't the car I was described. Well we went round and round on the price right up to closing. I finally said "look, I came out here on your word that this car would meet my needs. Obviously it has some deficiencies, but I can work with them provided I get it for the price I am asking for. You want 6500.00 plus fees and I only want to pay 6100.00 OTD. Well, make no mistake, it may appear that you have me at a disadvantage because I will have wasted 5 hours of my day plus gas to come up here and leave empty handed, but that's not the case. My friend and I will leave your sad excuse for a dealership, go to a nice steak house and have a great steak dinner, then hit the strip club for some visual entertainment. So, you see, it will not be a wasted trip." Well, the sales manager heard this, came out and finally gave me the car for what I was asking. I drove it home 1 hour later with my friend driving my truck in tow.
