--August 20, 2005--
I have since decided to concentrate on other problems arising since the clutch and brake problems mentioned earlier are not getting any worse and I can still operate the car.
Since then I have decided to change up my interior a little bit. I may or may not have mentioned....tweed interior is Super Gay in the 240sx. I removed the shifter and e-brake boots in favor of sewing my own out of suede. I choose dark grey and did all the stitching in red. I think it looks pretty good. Here are some pics.
I also decided I would redo the glove box, since it was all covered in tweed too. I spent a little more time on this than I did the shift boot and e-brake. It was definately more involved. Here is what it looks like:
This is how it looked when I stripped the tweed off.
This is the suede after I cut and sewed it....just wait!
This is the finished glovebox with 3-D star on lower left. NICE!
I also decided to remove the Tweed from the door panels. I was in favor of covering this in suede as well, but I am gonna take it to an upholstery shop to do it for me. I will also be adding a nautical star to each side also...black and red like my tat's.
This pic is how the doors look with no tweed on them.
Here is a pic of my somewhat new interior...just need new seats now.
I have also come to realize that the tweed interior pieces trapped alot of nasty smells into the cockpit. I think it smells better now in there without it. After all this interior mayhem, I decided to do my own mod to the lower radio din panel. What I did was make a stencil of the Silvia emblem, and taped it on backwards. Observe:
Stencil on backwards and sprayed blk/silver.
I spray painted the back silver and black to make sure I could see the logo. Then I proceeded to cut it out with a dremel tool. After this I adhered a piece of mesh solar screen to give it a solid smoke look. This is how it looks so far:
Now I put a piece of foggy looking clear plastic behind it all and backed it with another piece of a solar screen. This is what it looks like with a light behind it.
This is kinda what it will look like in the dash, but with a orange bulb behind it.
These are a few better shots after it was installed and dark enough to see well.
And another.
