--May 25th, 2005--

It's a new day, with a new problem. I got up today and decided I would see what I could find out about some of my eletronics not working. I started looking in the engine bay, and found a few things I didn't like. First of all, the outlet tube I mentioned earlier apparently melted the insulation off one of my connectors wires. It appears that it used to go to the IAC valve (missing since I bought it), but isn't hooked up to anything. I am gonna cut and solder in some new wire to it though. I also found a bunch of other eletrical connectors....but they aren't hooked up to anything. It's so frustrating. I am trying to figure out what all of em are for. There are like 11 all together or close to it. I included a bunch of pics...see for yourself...if you know what something is...put it in my guestbook. I can only assume most of the ones in the engine bay are from the cruise control (not working), IAC Valve (missing), and god know's what else is either missing or gone from the engine bay.

This is a group that I believe once went to the cruise control...not sure where the rest of it went.

Here is a group that I believe went to the IAC valve, including the melted one I mentioned previously.

Now onto the interior. I found a crap load of connectors unplugged in almost everything I took apart. The only things I was familiar with and plugged in were my cig. lighter and power mirrors (which still dont work). I took out the guage cluster and checked all the bulbs. I didn't find any burned out, and it still didn't work when I put it all back together. So that's strike two for the gas guage...I dont know what else to check now. Other than that, I also have no idea why my guages wont light up. I guess I will have to try another guage cluster or something.

Here is a pic of the ones I found not connected on the drivers side.

Here is a white one I thought would plug into the black open plug above it, but it doesn't fit. I dont know what either of these go to.

Back to the engine bay for a second. I think I might have found a possible location for a vacuum leak. I'm pretty sure the manual for the car didn't say anything about pluggin off a bunch of tubes from the throttle body with screws. Check it out below. Now I got something else to figure out. On a lighter side, I cleaned out the throttle body, and MAF after all that. It seems to have more power so that's a good thing.

Here is a pic of what I found when I went to clean the throttle body. I am sure this is not what was intended for these guys.
