You have a great start. As for your questions, to run a turbo greater than 12 psi on the D series motor you should use a stand alone CPU. But up to that point there are piggy back cpu's and flash kits that will work. I would stick with 10psi on a stock block as you WILL break a rod and destroy your motor in short order if to much power is put on them. I ran 12 psi for 1 run at a strip and the motor grenaded. Rebuilt with a darton sleeved block, pauter rods, wiesco pistons, AEM EMS computer and a bunch other stuff. Off race gas it'll hold 18 psi all day at around the 300 whp mark. On race gas and you could tune for 25-26 psi 400whp mark. Hope this helps, cheapest would stay at 10psi and call it a day. Plenty of power for these light cars.
