before you judge the apearence of the mexi ride you need to know what it once looked like (i'll have pictures up soon). I bought the car last december from one of those run down car lots with the lying car dealers who just try to take your money. it had an ugly ass green stripe all the way down the driver's side and two yellow stripes from front to back fenders pretty much everything was spraypainted, and what ghetto ride would be complete without the shitty purple window tint. The grille was also painted yellow to match the queer stripes.
The day I drove the car home i noticed the clutch starting to slip, then one night bam no more clutch. so after droppin $160.00 on a new one I put the new clutch in. drove like a dream until the timing belt snapped which resulted in some bent valves in the #1 cylinder. soo after that i decided a valve job would be pointless on a car with 206,000 miles and i purchased a new engine and drove the eight hour trip to Chicago to pick it up. there goes another $670.00. It took about a week but i got everything finished and now she runs great. Valve job as well as some porting and polishing is now in order to prep for the turbo.
Since the engine replacement I've been working on ridding the mexi ride of its green and gold spraypaint scheme and attempting to give her a more clean look. Which is when I added the new front bumper that's now fiberglassed to the front fenders. (look no lines!!) she's now sporting the dark grey primer and this way is how she's gonna stay. (dont wanna be too flashy i hate that crap!)
right now she's got
~ custom weapon R/APC cold air intake
~ battery relocated to the trunk
~ DC-S sport racing headers with DEI thermal wrap
~ G sport high output ignition coil
~ 9.3mm high performance plug wire
~ bosch platnum 4 plugs
~ Volt racing muffler with custom piping leading up to it
~ APC strut tower bar
~ Mr. Gasket Co. distributer cap and rotor
~ Custom short shifter
in a couple months she's gettin turboed with a garrett T3
(dont worry i know there's a lotta upgrades needed for turbocharging an F22 but i've got it covered check back for sure in July. it should be finished by then with pictures.)
I also worked a little on the interior. it was a disaster( dirt and grime as far as the eye could see). I put in some diamond plated style floor mats to protect that freshly shampoo'd carpet. added my 5" racing tach... mostly cuz the one in the dash was sticking at 4000 RPM.I hated the feel of the factory steering wheel so a Pilot Racing wheel was added.( i think it sets off the interior) the stock seats have been replaced by honda prelude seats to keep your ass planted where it needs to be. I put in a Sony X-plod head unit and my playstation 2 to keep me occupied. I took out the amp/ subs because it's not really what i want as of now... I'm working on performance currently because i just want to be able to smoke some people here and there. Also Pod guages for the A Pillar just added once again (i'll have pics up in a bit)I painted the guage frame red to match the little shifter knob i bought (the factory one kept cutting my hand)i love the 7" LCD monitor mounted into the dash it keeps my passengers and I occupied.
i hope you've enjoyed what an unemployed 17 year old kid can do to bring a car back from the dead. she's not the fastest but she's slowly but surely getting there!! Thanks for viewing my page.
****New pics will be up soon to show my progress check back soon****************************
