Performance:
When I ran the Talon in the summer of '04, it put down a 14.67 performance with a 97.2 mph trap speed. On the current setup, it should be in the low 14's to high 13's. I would estimate that it is currently putting down about 220 wheel horsepower.
Future plans:
B-52 turbo from The Speed Factor - $800
Slowboy Racing street front mount intercooler kit - $819
PTE 680cc fuel injectors - $300
MAF-T setup for blowthru with 3" GM MAF - $200
3" cold air intake pipe - $150
Greddy Type-S blowoff valve - $150
RRE cat eliminating downpipe - $225
Fluidyne aluminum radiator - $330
2 12" slim fans - $160
TurboSmart dual stage boost controller - $180
Magnus sheetmetal intake manifold - $600
Logic Performance tubular header - $395
Wideband AFR meter - $350
DSMLink - $500
17" wheels and tires - $800
The car is currently in the body shop due to a wreck and is getting fixed and having an all new factory style paint job applied. Same color only with factory black roof. A carbon fiber hood is also in the works.
I will run it with all of the above mods until the stock bottom end can't take it anymore them build up the internals with Eagle connecting rods and Wiseco pistons with the block bored 20 over. At that time I will also have the intake and exhaust ports ported and polished and install SS 1mm oversize valves with titanium springs and retainers and bolt it all back together wit ARP hardware with Mitsu 4 layer HG. My goal with this car is to achieve a 12 second timeslip with front wheel drive on street radials, no nitrous, 93 octane pump gas. I will keep the Talon unitl I can no longer afford to keep fixing it or until I find a nice 1Ga AWD Talon in good condition that I can buy and swap everything over to. This DSM has a very bright future.
