These are pics of most of the same parts from page #1, but they have been sent to Swain Technologies for coatings.
These are the rod and main bearings. They have been coated with a low friction coating
This, again, is the crank, notice the dull grey color of the counterweights. That is an oil shedding coating to keep oil in the pan and reduce rotating mass.
The rods have been coated with the same thing as the Crank.
The pistons have been coated with GoldCoat on the crown and
PM-9 on the skirts.
This is the Block I'll be using. Its is a CGI (Compacted Graphite Iron) block you can read about the block
here even though I purchased the block from McNews automotive.
Its has piston oil squirters and beefy main caps and Kamax(think OE on the M3) main bolts.
