Hello! I'm thinking of turbo/supercharging my miata for some more fun. I just picked up a pile of books to do some self-education. I've thought about just using the X-kit from Racing Mazda but I think I probably should know what does what and how to spec things out myself. I don't have any fabrication connections though, so I may end up going for a kit. Again though, I want to make sure I know how to maintain the system properly and balance it correctly so I don't end up grenading the engine.

It's pretty cool that there's a large Miata community out there full of people who are willig to take the time to modify their cars properly and not rice them out or throw a body kit on and I/H/E and pretend that they're fast.

I've balded my first set of tires trying to learn how to turn properly (actually shredded my rear passenger tire to the metal) and so maybe I'll do an autox very soon! It's very easy to drive fast- you launch well, shift well and put the pedal on the floor. Technique though is far deeper in the turns and I enjoy the G's so as I said, I think I'll try autox soon.

Are there any other Miata owners out there who are interested in adding forced induction to their engine? I'll probably also be upgrading the clutch, adding a radiator, engine management (of course), and am thinking about doing a rx7 rear diff swap so I can achieve the mythical 300WHP mark. I do have a connection for the engine work that would be required for that.

Anyways, if there's anyone out there, maybe we can get together and do some projects in conjunction and learn with each other. Drop me a line at mthura (at) yahoo dot com if you're interested.

Peas.
