I ended up replacing my slimline fans that I had with a flex-a-lite dual fan set up with it's own control box and that fixed my overheating problem, although I still can't use my AC. The transmission is still messed up and has been to cottman transmission two times!!!! The last time I took it there for this problem(Second grinds no matter what), they said they fixed it, and I picked it up and the first shift to second grinded!!!! I still have to take it back to them again now to fix the problem AGAIN :/
**UPDATE 07/31/05**
My Head Gasket was blown... I replaced it with a Mitsu Metal HG, and had my head completely rebuilt. I got it back, put my bumper back on and it still wants to overheat some. I think I need to replace the thermostat with a 170* instead of the stock 190* one, and trim my bumper some more to allow more airflow.
**UPDATE 07/18/05**
Ok, now after it still over heating I was still able to drive, then my tranny problems went downhill. The tranny was gone, so I had it rebuilt. They said my clutch was bad so I had to replace that even though it had maybe 50 miles on it (WTF). They said the Pressure Plate was defective. I bought a Fluidyne, used a 30/70 misture of coolant/water with redline water wetter to help the cooling. It was still running hot so I took off the front bumper to help with the airflow and now it is better.(damn 95-96 front bumpers) The only thing is that I am unable to use my AC :-( Oh well, I want to check my head gasket to make sure it is ok.
**Update 6/20/05**
I just finished the install of the new clutch, O2 elim down pipe, and slim line fans. I took it for a test drive and is started overheating :( WTF??? these fans are suposed to help, not make it worse. Then it blew off and IC pipe and left me stranded for a little bit. I still have no second sometimes when trying to shift to it, sometimes I do.... it's wierd.
I think it is related to the shifter cable, so I have to check that out. We will see what happens....
**Update 6/6/05**
I am having all sorts of problems with my transmission/clutch. I am not sure what the problem is exactly, but I am going to replace the clutch, Flywheel Surface, Shift Fork, and Fulcrum ball. I have ordered a Spec Stage 2 clutch kit. I decided to go with that after reading some good reviews about it. The stage 2 has more holding power than the ACT 2100 (350ft/lbs of tourque claimed)but does not have as heavy of a pedal from what I have read. Hope fully this will fix my problems with my clutch and all. I am going to pull the transmission on Friday. :-) 4th time in the 1 1/2 years I have owned this car. lol
