Bought a new SHO. This one was sold to my cousin. Thanks for looking.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for looking at my SHO. Let me know what you think. Suggestions are welcome and feel free to rate my car, preferrably for the better...
A little bit of info on why an SHO is not "just a Taurus," since SO many people feel the need to just yell to me that I am driving JUST a Taurus. The SHO was produced from 89-99. The 89-95's came with a YAMAHA built NATURALLY ASPIRATED V6 in manual or automatic trim (auto introduced as an option in 93). I don't know as much about the Gen 3 SHO's (96-99), but their engines were V8's, only automatic, and I believe were built either completely by YAMAHA or by YAMAHA and Ford combined (YAMAHA heads, Ford block or visa-versa). Many people seem to think that the Gen 1's and 2's had V8's or superchargers, or they are just different looking than regualar Taurii. Just all the more reason why this car is one of the best production sleepers out there. The V6 engines can also last for many miles IF they are well-maintained, which means the 60K maintenance, get this, every 60K miles. They also hold their original power very well, too. Mine, for instance, is in DESPERATE need of a 60K, and I am still pulling down 15.5 1/4's at the drags, and that is with ALOT of oil in the spark plug wells, and has the valve shims "out of adjustment," as well as HORRIBLE struts and tires. (The stock 1/4 for the V6's is somewhere in the 15.2-15.5 range and trap speeds around 93). I am hoping to, once I get my 60K and suspension/tires, dip into the 14's with a completely stock SHO. We'll see.
This is my 1993 Ford Taurus SHO MTX. It is a fully-optioned 93, minus the ATX and Full leather. It is kind of rare for a SHO, since it is black exterior on black interior (though not full leather, it has the 50/50 leather/cloth combo). 1993 was the last year that Ford offered the black exterior or black interior on the G2 SHO. The G3 SHO was available in black exterior, but not interior. 1993 was also the first year of the newer style center console and steering wheel, so it was the only year that those came in black. The exterior of the car is in decent shape, and the interior is in very good shape, especially for a '93.
The SHO is a work-in-progress, and I think it is coming along well, considering everything I have done since I bought it (there is a list of the repairs/mods I've done lower on this page, as well as upcoming mods), in May of 2005, to replace my previous car, a 1994 Ford Escort (I have some pictures of the Escort on page 7). I was about to get a VERY good condition 1994 Cadillac STS for a very good price, but then the headgasket blew, so I waited a little longer, and got the SHO. Ultimately, I think I am happier with the SHO than I would have been with the STS. It's got more of a sleeper aura to it and it has the 5-spd, which I don't think I could live without.
The SHO currently has about 148,XXX miles on it as of mid-July of '06 (It had about 127,500 when I bought it). It's been more of a "fixxer-upper" than I originally anticipated, but it has definetely been worth it.

This is the way my engine currently looks. The only thing that I have done to it is paint the letters and put a cone filter on, which you can't see in this pic.
This is the way the SHO looked when I got it. Not much different than now, but since then I have fixed a sagging rear bumper and driver side side skirt (you can barely see this in this picture). I also painted the SHO letters blue.
