UPDATE: Tacoma was sold within hours of hitting used car lot. I happened to be working the afternoon it was sold. Nice guy who bought it. I hope he has as much fun with it as I did!

THANKS FOR YOUR VOTES BUT TAKEN OUT OF THE CONTEST BY BULLCRAP. (see below) I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHO VOTES, WHEN THEY VOTE AND WHERE THEY VOTE FROM.
SHELL CONTEST
Greetings,
Due to a technical glitch in our voting system, members were able to place multiple votes (aka ballot box stuffing) from a few ip addresses, and we were forced to re-count the votes from week 2. Although the problem has been fixed, this unfortunately changes the results and we regret to inform you that you will actually not be advancing to week 3 (you can thank the multiple voters for that). We have made the change to the contest page and while CarDomain realizes that these things happen, as gesture of good faith on our part, we still intend to reward you with the $250 Shell Fuel cards just for your participation.
Thank you for your efforts.
UPDATE: Still have not received anything from the contest. What a sham!
Hooked up with Deostacotoy today and shot some pics with him. Nice guy and doesn't live too far from me.

Here are some new shots I got today as well. Hopefully the next time I post pics it will be from the Wharton State Park trip and dirtier!
Figured "what the heck", don't know if anyone has tried this but figured if not, I'll give it a shot. What is it you might ask? Well, "BLACK TAILLIGHT MOD" and I would not recommend it. Picked up a spare taillight off of ebay (where else) and figured I'd give it a try. Well, bloodied up hand and finger later, I wish I didn't bother. Did the same concept as the "BLACK HEADLIGHT MOD" figuring I could just pull the pieces apart after heating it up. "I don't think so, Tim!" The lense is not held on to the backing with glue/tape of any sort. Almost like it was pressed when they were assembled. Once I broke all the lense out (had no choice since it broke as I started to pry it apart) I got the reflectors off and gave it a shot with the Krylon Fusion black. Even though the lense itself has a red/pinkish tint to it I think it would have looked cool. This mofo was harder to get the reflectors out than the headlights.

Since I needed to re-do the black mod on one of my headlights (rock chipped the lense) I got another headlight off ebay and did one in white. Am not going to keep it on (like the black better) but figured I'd share what it looks like. I used the super white Duplicolor spray paint and when right over the Krylon Fusion black. The color matched pretty well but the Duplicolor is a PITA to get it to cover right. Used a whole can just for this one bezel and it really did not cover well. It looks ok I guess if your into the ricey look. Looks like its outlined to much. You be the judge.

Garage shot at work.

Small mod done to the hood scoop:

Just picked my Taco up from the dealership for the exhaust manifold TSB and the tick is gone. Sounds is alot better now. Can hear my TRD exhaust and the intake alot better as well.
Here are the new part numbers:
17150-0P070
17140-0P070
17173-0P010 (gaskets)
Added these today. Nice little addition. Also added new TRD license plate frame that I had made. Also one for the front.

EGR Slim In-Channel Vent Visors.

Removed the plastichrome emblems off the doors and replaced with this:
Colormatched with the stock graphics in the rear quarters. Thanks Mark!
K&N/AEM Cold Air Intake Combo. Thanks goes out to Aaron for the info. BOON88RR
I feel a little bit of a difference in performance and sound. At least now I don't have to worry about oil messing up my MAF. I can still use my K&N DryCharger if needed on dusty roads. Thanks Aaron!

I took some of the pieces from the stock intake since I knew I would not be using it again and modified the hole on the inner fender where the stock intake pulled air from. I cut off some of the rubber hose and the part that fit into the hole and reversed it and purchased some small dryer vent hose to connect to it and ran it down inside the fender well down to the cut slots on the bottom of the passenger side black inner wheel well liner. When I get more time and redo it I'll take more detailed pics. I also put a piece of screen in between the sections to keep anything from getting sucked up into the filter. The pic is kind of deceiving because it looks like the filter is resting on the piece out of the fender but there is a 1/4" gap between the 2 pieces.

COMPLETE 3" TOYTEC KIT W/DIFF DROP, OLD MAN EMU 884 COILS AND SOFTRIDE AALs

November 2004

April 2006

Completed the in-cabin air filter mod. Makes no sense to me that Toyota did not put one in on the '05s. I used a 3 Phase Electrostatic Filter by WEB called the Absorber. It comes in 3 pieces (see pictures) 1 layer filter, 1 layer activated carbon and 1 layer is a grate that they attach to. Duct taped all the edges and slide it right into place. Picked up at Home Depot and is a one size fits all/cut to fit style. Took me 10 minutes to do.
UPDATE: After installing mine last night I went out this morning to get a paper and coffee and checked it after I got back and could not believe the crap that was already trapped in the filter from that short amount of time I have the blower on. Small leaves, dead bugs, etc... Can't believe I've probably been breathing some of the disintegrating crap. Thanks for nothing Toyota!
'05 IN-CABIN AIR FILTER MOD

Finished the black headlight mod. Was not as bad as I thought it would be. Was able to get to the 4th bolt pretty easy as well by removing part of the inner plastic fenderwell. Pleased with the outcome but don't know if I should leave the foglight treatment on or remove it. What do you think?

RedlineTuning hood struts. No more prop rod. The kit I purchased came with silver brackets but I painted mine flat white to match the underside of the hood and engine compartment.

With new "Sport" hood on. Made a big difference in appearance. Redline Tuning hood struts go on next.

New Sport hood going on this week. Ordered new hood struts for it is well. Thanks Pb2theMax! No more annoying prop rod. Still waiting on coils. ARB dragging their feet on production but I'm sure the wait will be worth it. Next up black headlight mod.
AS YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED I HAVE LEFT THE WONDERFUL AND WITTY REMARKS LEFT IN MY GUESTBOOK BY RAZORXSHARP FOR EVERYONE TO READ. GEE, HE'S A WONDERFUL PERSON. SORRY YOU CANNOT SEE WHAT I HAVE POSTED FOR HIM BECAUSE HE DELETES THE "BAD" MESSAGES LEFT FOR HIM. WHY? BECAUSE IN HIS WORDS "I do erase all your bullshit, because I don't want folks going to your bullshit page through my page!" WISH I COULD SAY I WAS THE ONLY ONE HE HAS DONE THIS TO BUT I CANNOT. CHECK OUT NICK'S PAGE AT Nick's Tacoma.
I JUST WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO LEFT ME NICE COMMENTS IN MY GUESTBOOK DURING MY WEEK AS SHOWOFF. I APPRECIATE ALL THE NICE COMMENTS AND APOLOGIZE FOR NOT GETTING TO ANSWER EVERYONE WHO LEFT ME A MESSAGE.

AS FAR AS THE RUDE, NASTY AND UNCALLED FOR COMMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN LEFT, WELL

THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING MY TACOMA SHOWOFF OF THE WEEK FOR 11/7/2005, I APPRECIATE THIS HONOR AND I DID NOT EXPECT THIS. IT IS JUST NICE TO BE RECOGNIZED FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE DONE. BUT YOU KNOW I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD GET SO MANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT MY TRUCK JUST BECAUSE OF THIS ALL OF A SUDDEN. TO ALL THAT SAID "NICE TRUCK, WELL DONE" I SAY THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND I APPRECIATE IT. TO ALL WHO SAID "WHAT'S SO SPECIAL?, WHY YOUR VEHICLE?, SEEN BETTER, YADDA, YADDA, YADDA I HAVE NO COMMENT EXCEPT TO SAY IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE BEING SHOWCASED FOR 1 WEEK, 1 WEEK FOR CRYING OUT LOUD TAKE IT UP WITH THE PEOPLE WHO NOMINATED ME IN THE FIRST PLACE. YOU'D THINK I WON VEHICLE OF THE YEAR OR SOMETHING. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN TAUGHT THAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, DON'T SAY ANYTHING.
Well, after a day of 4 wheelin' for the first time in the Tacoma with Frankg1223 (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2138608) I have so say I am quite impressed with the truck and the power and handling. The Geolander M/T's got me through some thick mud and did not fail me once. Pictures to come soon.
