This is the 71 Dart Swinger, it has the 318 in it and only 88k original miles. We only payed 2500 for it.

It has a little aftermarket work already done to it, like the exhaust as well as the rear shocks which are Gabriel Hijacker Air shocks. The air shocks can be pumped up from the trunk like tires. The plan is to get a set of kyb shocks, the front has old stock Munroe shocks that came factory with the car. The rear shocks are nothing more then for looks, and im after performance. It has dual pipes but I'm not sure about brands. They come out of the rear at an angle and it looks somewhat akward, I plan on replacing everything from the headers to the tips.

I've had the car about a week and have began to work on it, starting with the more necessary things. We have replaced small things like wiper blades and done a basic tune up to get her running a little more smoothly. On May 14th we did all the fluids, replaced the plugs, and adjusted the timing. On the 15th i replaced the fuel filter and bought a new thermostat to get her cooled off a bit, it has a mcuh hotter thermostat then needed because the car is originally from Indiana and we live in Florida. That's all we've done thus far, with summer coming this car will be seeing alot of work. We need to replace the two rear 1/4 panels because there are some major rust issues that the pictures don't illustrate to well. It's going to need interior work done as well because the driver side of the bench seat is ripped up pretty badly. Tell me what you think, suggestions are welcomed, i'll keep you updated.
-The new tank we ordered was put on backorder for the last two weeks but it should be in on July 5th. Once that is put on it will be running once again, the old tank has some major rust issues, it was sending rust up to the fuel filter and getting it clogged. It also looks like the previous owner bottomed out a few times, it has alot of dents and dings on it. The plan after that is to get a new carb and intake manifold. We're looking at an Edelbrock 600 cfm with the performer manifold. We might go to a 650 cfm but we're not sure at the moment. The next area of focus is the body. Need to order alot of parts - quarter panels, valance panels, trunk lid, hood, fenders, and rocker panels.

The dart got put aside for a little bit. I am back at it now and we just pulled the engine/ tranny. I'm starting to disassemble the engine and looking for what i need to replace or repair. The plan so far is to get a pair of heads from a 360, get the cylinders honed, maybe get it milled if needed, clean up the 30 years worth of sludge on the block, repaint it, replace the cam and lifers, and put it aside to get the body work done. I'm feeling a little more confident about the car as a whole project now that it seems I'm almost on the downhill. The hard part is done- the entire suspension has been rebuilt (bushings, leafsprings, new KYB shocks, brand new ball joints upper and lower), new gas tank and sending unit, brakes rebuilt, and so on. Once I get the engine to a point where i am satisfied with the reliability and performance it will be all body work. Drop me a line with suggestions or comments.
