1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT Spyder SL Twin Turbo Hard Top Convertible
Mitsubishi's 3000GT Spyder is the first retractable hard top since the 1959 Ford Skyliner. A total of 1,618 Spyders were ever produced. 741 were the non-turbo SL model and 877 were the twin-turbo VR4. That makes the Spyder one of the most unique production cars in the entire world.
Seriously... you hit one button and the top retracts automatically... here's a before, middle, and after sequence. This car is equipped with an after market computer control for the top, so that I can start the car and retract the top fully by remote.

This 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL Spyder is one of 376. It was built in 2nd week of 10/94 and it was the 80th post production car of that model to come out of the plant. There were 16968 other cars of the model year made at the Nayoga plant before this Spyder.
There are 82 other cars that were made with both the same interior and exterior color. There are 86 cars with the same exterior color and 89 cars with the same interior color.
This Spyder has been substantially upgraded since production.
It began it's life as a Naturally aspirated ATX SL (SL is luxury model). We added twin turbos from a VR4 to give it a hell of a boost in speed, pushing 10 pounds on a 10-1 engine (VR4 is 8-1), thus 10 pounds of boost would translate to alot more on a VR4. The ATX transmission has been fully built so it shifts faster than just about any human can, except maybe those crazy japanese guys with the elf shoes I see in videos, those guys are nuts!
