This is what I believe to be the original set of BBS wheels that came with the E30 M3. The tires are BFGoodrich Euro T/A tires that appeared to be new when I purchased the car. Size is 225/50/HR15. Tires were nothing special so I was better off switching them out.
This is another set of wheels that came with the car. They are 16-inch BBS RS wheels with a 7-inch width. These were made in Germany, and are no longer in production. The construction is a three-piece design and weigh approximately 16lbs. each.
The wheels were wrapped in Yokohama A-008 tires. Measurements are 225/45/ZR16 with a treadwear rating of 160, traction rating of A, and temperature rating of A. In their current condition, the tires appear to have approximately 20% left and may have been sitting for a while. However, after some cleaning, the tires handled fairly well.
New set of tires
I recently decided to replace the old and worn set of Yokohama A-008 tires. They were doing decent in dry weather but were horrible in wet weather. After doing some research, I decided to go with the Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 tires. These tires were rated pretty well by some racers on forums, and some even claimed they performed better than some tires that cost more then the Hankooks.
"The Ventus R-S2 Z212 was created from the successful Ventus RSS Z211 racing design, brought to the street with improved road contact surface area for dry traction and a tread design featuring exceptional water dispersion for wet conditions. The result is a street tire delivering maximum grip with the proven Ventus Ultra-High Performance tread compound." - Hankook Tire Company
I also chose to stick with the recommended tire size of 225/45/ZR16. The tires have a treadwear rating of 200, a traction rating of AA, and a temperature rating of A. These tires also have the speed rating of W.

Looking from an angled shot from the rear of the car, there is a decent sized lip with these wheels. The shine of the wheels are pretty good, but takes a little bit of elbow grease to clean these mesh style wheels. Even though these are 16-inch wheels, they compliment the car very well and give it a classic look.
