Hey everyone, I am pleased to present you my, still not completely finished, bul already beutyfull, BMW 7-series project.

It is BWM 740 IL 1998
On the first pictures you can what my car loks like right now, the pictures 9-13 about 6 month ago and last 3 pictures are what Has motivated me to start upgradding and modifiyng my car. As of 05/13/2005 it has 396 HP, 385 LBS of tourge and it accelerates from 0-60mph in 5 seconds or less. I started with 100% stock(not even tinted windows) BMW 740 that has 282hp, 310 LBS of tourge and 0-60 in 6.8 seconds.
For me, actually, look is a little more important then the power, so the first thing I did about 8 month ago was buying the HAMANN "Black Shadow" front grille, crystal clear 2001 taillight, the euro sport clear turn signals and side markers lights.Below you can see pictures of my car rigth after I had these items installed. These modification gave my car a new, a lot sportier look right away.

After that I decided to remove the "cats" from my exhaust system. Since BMW E38 (740, 750) has a dual exhaust (and obvioustly 2 cats), I gained close to 25HP after I removed them.

About 6 month ago, i saw the pictures of the BMW Hamann project, I was shocked and promised myself that my car will look as good as the one I see.

This look reqired sufficient modification fo the car's body. I bought the front bumper from "Vision Motorsport" (the only seller of the BMW E38 M7 body kits)

plus I installed the 12,000K Xenon HID headlight system made by Philips

Also i had my rear bumper re-modified. The M7 rear bumper is very simular to the orignal BMW e-38 bumper, i didnt have to buy a new bumper, I just had a proffessional "speed shop" modify the one I have.

The Hamman skirts weren't available right away, I just got them about a week ago and didn't get a chance to install them. These skirts suppose to complete the Hamman BMW M7 look of my car. Along with the front and rear bumper I installed the BMW M5 side grilles on the right and left sides of my car, M tunk lip spoiler and 2001 M5 instrument cluster.

As far as the engine modifications : I have a"dinan" short intake, " Performance Mod, that is exlusively made for BMW E38 in U.K, Alpina performance mufflers and Dinan Software & computer chip. To get the "Dinan" chip installed in my car, I had to shipp the whole ECU to United Kigdom, where they made necessary modifications and reprogrammed my ECU.
I had a Dyno Hp run and it came back with 396 HP ( same as 2001-2004 BMW M5, that has a 5.0 liter engine, double intake system and 6 speed manual transmission) and 385 LBS of tourge. I raced with the 2001 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT stick shift and we went side to side all way to 80 MPH, than the Mustang's driver hit the NOS charge and beat me. Sucks...But his car has 5.0 litre,is supercharged and with manual transmission; my car still has 4,4 litre engine (my next step is to encrease the engine size to 5.0 litre and instal the 2001 M5 insides), no supercharger and its automatic! Actually, one of the big pluses of my reprogrammed ECU is the way my car chages gears: If every automatic car will change gears every 3-5K rpms, which gives a stick cars a big plust over automatick during the race, because they can let the engine go up to 6-7K rpms; my car( when I am flooring and my computer 'understands" that i am racing) will shift from 1st to 2nd gear at 5500 or even 6500rpm, the 2to 3rd around 6000-7200 rpm and 3rd to 4th around 5500 to 6000rpm. Thanx to this way of shifting, my car is able to equally compete with stick shift and adding the almost 400 hp we getting a pretty powerful mix! Finishing all this I added the 19 inch 8.5 in the front and 19 inch 9.5 $4500 rims.

As I mentioned earlier, my car is not fully completed yet, M7 suspension,front and rear bumper splitter, Hamann side skirts, rear window spoiler and continuos engine upgrades are on its way, so please check back later to see my latest upgrades.
Sincerely;
Lex
