This is my ride. It's a 2000 Dodge Stratus ES. Its a huge upgrade from what I used to have. It features a 170 horsepower 2.5L V6 with autostick, all-wheel disc brakes with ABS, 15in rims, white face gauges, leather seats, fog lamps, and body colored door handles. I'm transformin this car into a Super Touring Stratus replica. It will be a street version for now but ultimately it will perform, handle, and look very similar to the #8 Stratus driven by David Donahue during the 1997 North American Touring Car Championship. Project code name "The Savior" or "El Salvador" started way back in 2003 with my first car a '99 Plymouth Breeze Expresso. The car was tragically totaled in 2004. I wanted the project to continue so I saved up some money, sold my old skool project car, and bought a Dodge Stratus. I've been a fan of the cloud cars ever since I first saw them racing on TV way back in '96.

UPDATE: The car is sold now minus the aerodynamic parts. The project has been put on hold. The new car for now is an '06 MINI Cooper.

I found some images that are of interest - http://mwphoto.smugmug.com/Cars/37236 Here, it gives an idea of the 1996 spec, and 1997 spec touring car. From what I can see, the Wings West style lip, is actually a 96 spec front kit, or a clone of it anyways. You have one of the ONLY 1997 spec front lips in existence. Apparently, they were very pricey, and few and far between. The rear spoiler is another item that shows different. The 1996 spec uses a fairly traditional spoiler, the 1997 has the really interesting looking one, which again, I see you found. Nice job! Also notice that the wheels of choice are different from the 96 to 97, in that the 96 is double 5-spoke, and the 97 is a 16-spoke even spaced design. I thought those pictures a Truly wonderful find!

Nice history of the Stratus STC. I was there for it's entire history and then some. As well as engineering support through the RAETECH Corp. I also was David Donohue's race engineer in 1997 for the drivers' Championship. Best Regards, Dave Finch President RAETECH Corp.

Hey, I shaved my doors like yours. They look alot better then trimmed. I'm about to order the WingsWest touring front kit. Getting paint & lowered really soon. I'm going black; however. Thanks for the ideas. 5* again.
