1985
I went to college and learned engine rebuilding, tuning, and brakes.
I was shooting for a certified mechanics degree, but I didn't like working on mid 80ds cars, and I only want to work on old Mopars. Limited field, so I went to work for my dad.
I had it painted F8 with Emeron. It cost $1,600 for every thing.

It was repainted probably in the early 70ds before I got it, in what looked like a side swipe on the left side.
The body work was ok, it had bondo in the left 1/4 and front fender.
They also repaired the back window, as all charger rust there along with the trunk.
OUT OF THE PAINT SHOP
I was, along Nick, (from nicksgarage.com) and Scott, a Buick man, who once own a 69 Dart GTS 340, ran the junk yards along the Mexican border every weekend.
My Charger was built from many junked Charger, and other Dodges. Working at Pep Boys, I didn't make enough to buy after market stuff, and there wasn't much for sale in 1984 anyway.
While junk yarding, I found 3 R/T Chargers, so that is where I got the badges.
The front grill was bought from my local Dodge dealer, for $75.00.
