Some other cars of interest:
My ute...my beautiful little ute. My second car...my first was a 1963 Hillman Minx with no motor that was sat in the backyard...my car freak's version of a playset. 1977 Datsun 1200 she was...had a few funny little patch jobs too...some really unique stuff. I loved it to pieces and I drove it to pieces...that picture was taken the day the driver's door fell off. LOL! Its in my uncle's car graveyard now...alongside the Cortina...as below...which I hope to rescue soon!
One I was considering buying one time. $8000 for an immaculate GT spec 1600 manual. Woulda been cool...but hey...I can't complain about Rosie...or more accurately I shouldn't...but I do sometimes...when she lets me down. :-(
The Perana! One of about 500 units factory fitted with a 302 Windsor V8 by Basil Green Motors in Johannesburg, South Africa. The beastly paintjob...that wicked sounding dual exhaust...oh its just heaven! I want one!!!
Another option for my first car...1984 Mercedes-Benz 300D (or 280E) W123...again...fully loaded...and just gorgeous...pure style!
Not forgetting of course...the Mini! My friend offered this to me when I was 16 for $1000...I had over $2000 in my account but my father wouldn't let me buy her! I was devastated!!!
The next project...hopefully...Mum's original unrestored 1976 TD Cortina XLE. 250 Crossflow Falcon motor...from factory! All original...fully optioned...rare as HELL! And goes like a bat from there too! Very rusty though, but well worth the effort if I can get her to concours...coz she's just beautiful!
The GT. The 1970 XW Falcon GT-HO Phase II. Without a doubt the wildest four door muscle car to ever be built! Believe it or not this is merely a replica...and me and my brother are going to build one identical to this one. Starlight Blue or Electric Blue (pictured is Electric Blue) with a stock 351 Cleveland, 4 Speed Toploader and 9" Diff...to full GT-HO spec! Its gonna be AWESOME!
