The idea is for her to end up looking like Eleanor...the 1967 Shelby GT-500 from "Gone in 60 seconds" (Pictured on Page 8). Colour scheme is right...got the bubble bonnet and bobtail spoiler on the way and plan to put black stripes right up the middle from nose to tail. I also intend to put LC/LJ Torana GTR XU1 flutes in the front guards, a V8 badge on the bootlid and XW GT style wire and pin bonnet locks. Front spoiler is also being repaired and replaced (Present in some photos and not in others)
After that...its the full Perana spec conversion to 302 Windsor, Four Speed Toploader and 2.92:1 9" diff. Dual exhausts with Lukey extractors and mufflers...to create that perfect heavenly roar...and she'll be all set!
Left: New spoiler I picked up off Jamie (Profile: 72grunt). Gonna look great! Right: Wheel after finishing the lettering...I did it with the proper stuff...and it looked so good too! If only it had've lasted!
Before (Left) and after (Right) fitting the new air cleaner. The latter photo was taken while repairs were being made...hence the old alternator and new distributor cap loose in the engine bay.
Left: New mudflaps...a necessity when you live in the country as I do...you should've seen the mud I was flicking up onto her before! Keep catching on the wheels at full lock though...had better do something about that. Right: My tools...well actually most of that is cleaning and polishing stuff...with my $60 car cover in the background...not got a shed for her as yet :-(
Battle scars...on the right the only patch of rust of any significance in the body...that whole guard has needed serious attention since I bought the car. On the left is where some prick in a Holden Combo decided to back into me...dipshit there was all this room yet he turned and backed into me...I was FUMING!!! Right on the two-tone too! Bitch of a thing to fix!
Tailights before and after tinting.
Left: Tailight exposed in bootspace. Right: Tailight covered with shielding which is broken. Gotta make some new ones. Anyone with any ideas how leave a message on my guestbook! Would be much appreciated!
Spare Gearbox...a Borg-Warner 35...fitted to Capris (4 and 6 cylinder) and Triumph Stags (V8). Needed the inhibitor switch for mine and picked up this one for $20...only to find its inhibitor was stuffed! Ah well.
The stereo.
Current specs: Sony Xplod CD Head Unit 4" Sony Xplod Fronts Panasonic Tweeters 6" Pioneer Rears No sub Audioline 4-channel ???Watt Amp
Plans: Sony Xplod Tape Deck Head Unit coupled to Xplod Stacker (6 or 10 disc MP3) 4" Sony Xplod Fronts Panasonic Tweeters 6"x9" Sony Xplod Rears Twin 12" Sony Xplod Subs Twin Sony Xplod 4-channel 500Watt Amps
Factory fitted Rear Demister...a really rare option on Capris...especially on a '69 1600 Deluxe! Repairing it at the moment...as you can see!
Sunroof...aftermarket...and the bonnet. Soon to be replaced with a V6 Bubble Bonnet and stripes!
