Here's some pics of my '68 Chevy Biscayne. It's a "driver" - definitely not a show queen. I'm into cruise-ins and drag racing so she can't corner well and the only "sound system" is the gentle engine's rumble.
She runs okay for now, but there's lots of engine upgrades planned as money and becomes available. The current drivetrain consists of a mild 400SB (old Holley 780, lightly ported "doublehumps", mild CompXE cam, KB pistons) hooked to a TH350. I recently installed a rebuilt 12 bolt with an Eaton posi with a 3.42 gear in place of the original 10 bolt.
The old wheel/tire/stance combo. This is how she looked about a year after I bought her ('97) and fixed her up a bit. 7" Rallys and 1 coil cut in the front. 8" Rallys with a big tire out back. No rings, just some old, gennie "Police caps".
At the begining of summer '05 I was gettin' tired of that look and became really keen on stock steelies. I tried to go for a 60s , no hubcap "I'm-runnin'-my-car-at-the-dragstrip-tonight" look with 15x7" stock steelies from a '70 Impala and thinline whitelwalls.
I decided, as big as this car is, I just can't live without 8" rear wheels and the fattest tire possible so...
This is now the current look. The "tuff car" look. Back to the Rallys, but this time with no caps. Coils cut. 2 in front. 1 in rear. It bottoms out on bumps so I'm gonna put it back up in the air a bit over the winter.
From the rear...
The "327" My goal is to get the engine/engine bay looking as stock as possible. I have a ways to go...
I took a detour on the whole "stock-appearing engine" thing by installing headers awhile back. However, I'm not sure I regret that move. The car went from 13.99s to 13.6s with that one change!
