I am a absolute fanatic about keeping my max clean. I have detailed many show cars and this is the steps I use for the best results on the paint:
keep in mind this is what I do and feel free to modify it, however if you goof it up it is not my fault.
1st make sure car is out of direct sunlight, and will stay that way for at least 3 hours
1. wash car with warm water + soap mix, take car to scrub out seams and panels gaps, also spray non-acid based cleaner on wheels and allow to break up grime
2. rinse car with very clean water, dry with water blade and chamois left over spots
3. mist panels with "spotter" 50/50 water/thinner and wipe to remove water residue, and missed spots
4. clay bar car one panel at a time using good amounts of lubrication on panels
5. rewash car with clean rinsing soap (meguires or other good name) to remove clay residue
6. buff car with Meguires Glaze, dont press machine hard, or else you may burn your paint. make sure to remove all excess off paint.
7. Apply Zymoil liquid original wax, one panel at a time, by hand ( believe me by hand you have a much better feel for how smooth the finish will be
8. after wax dries hard, remove with very clean terry towel (you'll need several as the wax build up very quick)
9. mist all panels with clean, cold water, then buff imediatly to bring out imperfections in wax and even out the shine.
and thats it for the paint. after your done use a good quality foam glass cleaner and steel wool to remove residue off glass and chrome parts.
My Interior Cleaning Method:
Stuff you'll need:
-Oxy Clean, 2 clean spray bottles, baby shampoo, Mequires leather cleaner (in spray bottle), clean terry-cloth rags, glass cleaner, vynl protectant(optional)
1. Vacum everything (seats, carpet, dash, vents, headliner)
2. Mix 5-1 OxyClean and HOT water, using a bristle brush scrub all carpets, if headliner is very dirty(or if it's a smokers car) mist oxyclean mix onto headliner, and scrub. After scrubbing, allow to soak for 2-3 min, then vacum with wet-dry vac.
3. mix a 3-1 solution of baby shampoo and hot water. mist onto one seat at a time, allow to soak for 2 minutes(more for dirtier seats), then wipe off. after seats are dry, treat with liberal amount of mequires spray leather care. Buff off excess if you want a matte finish.
4. Use baby shampoo mix to clean dash pad, door panels, kick panels and all plastics. Substitue oxy clean if plastics are very dirty. after that use a pro-grade protectant (NOT armor-all) on all surfaces.
5. clean all glass (be sure to take care if your windows are tinted use only auto glass cleaner that has NO ammonia (it'll ruin your tint). I perfer foam cleaner b/c they don't streak, also if you can use a window towel, normally blue in color, they are awesome at cleaning and delicate enough to use on tint.
6. re-vacum, double check all glass and ur done!
