I just fixed a couple chips in my hood. These chips were from rocks off of a semi-truck. They have nothing to do with the infamous paint chip problem with some newer Tacomas. (So far, I haven't had that problem.)
If you want an exact match for your touch-up paint, go to the Toyota dealership and give them your VIN number so they can get the paint code, then they can give you the exact paint for your truck. Touch up paint is free from Toyota. They can even mail it to your house if they don't have it in stock.
Then clean the chipped area with some alcohol, let it dry and then fill with paint. To build up the chipped spot you might need to add a few coats. Then let it cure for 48 hours before trying to smooth it down.
To level it down I got some 2000 and 3000 grit wet/dry sand paper from NAPA and let the paper soak in soapy water for an hour. Then wrap the sand paper around a sanding block or sponge and start sanding with light pressure in one direction. It only takes a few rubs to get the touch up paint smooth and level with the stock paint. Then I used my buffer and heavy cut polish to bring back the shine.
I had two chips. One on the hood and one on the grille. The chip on the hood went all the way to metal.
I should have taken pictures of the paint before I sanded, but I forgot.
Here is after I sanded the touch up paint down smooth with the clearcoat. You gotta keep it soapy and wet while you're sanding. It only takes a minute. I put masking tape on the rubber weather stripping to keep from getting polish on it.
It turned out perfect. You'd never know the paint was damaged. Check here for some more info on fixing chips and scratches.

It's a small mod, but I figure I'll post info anyway. I put an AMI Stubby antenna on. It a black 21", which is 11" shorter than the long stock antenna. The radio reception is great and it gives the truck a little sleeker look. It is an inch or two taller than the top of the cab. This antenna is pretty beefy, and might not be a good choice if you like to take your truck through automatic car washes. (I always wash my vehicles by hand.)
I bought it here.

I just put some hood struts on, and I love them. No need for a stupid hood prop that gets in the way. These struts are so smooth. Check here for more info.
