1971 NOVA

POZEST1's 1971 Chevrolet Nova

This is my 1971 Nova! It took me a few years of looking to find a good solid car at a good price, but being patient really paid off. After I bought this car I did a little research and found out that a lady owned this car for the first 18 years, then it changed hands twice before I bought her. Originally a Citrus Green 6 cyl. and still having the original Protecto-Plate Card in the glove box. I wish I would have taken a few pics when I first got her in 1997, but all these pics are fairly recent.

Just a kinda cool pic.

O.K. now for what's under the hood. It's got a 350 4 bolt block with cast flat top pistons and Chevy Bow Tie Phase I Heads with 64cc chambers and 2.02 / 1.60 valves, Crane Full Roller Rockers topped with Chevrolet Performance Polished Aluminum Valve covers. Holley 650 Carb, 1 inch carb spacer, Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold, accel coil, Hooker full length headers and 3 inch dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers and turndowns in front of the rear axle. Trans. is a TH350 with a shift kit and the rear end is a 8.5 inch Posi with 3.42 gears. She's really loud and pretty quick. I'm not sure what cam is in the car now I never replaced it (yet), but plan on gettin a new one. Any recommendations are welcome.

The New Holley Carb. I bought in 1999 to replace the old Quad. It is a spreadbore type that works really well and I would recommend for trouble free and good all around performance. I figured it would be pretty good on gas having smaller primaries, was I ever wrong(typical Holley). Shoulda went with a double pumper.

4. new sub-frame connectors
5. new traction bars
6. 10 bolt posi rear end out of a 1980 Z-28 with 3.42 gears
7. New Holley 650 carb.

A few more goodies that are going on soon!

Just picked up 4 rocker moldings. Two are excellent from California but got bent in shipping. I'll try to straighten them. Two are ones I picked up locally but need a good buffing. I'll pick the best pair out of the 4.

Hey. Whats goin on? We bought a GM performance parts 350 because it was just as cheap as building our motor for the same power. And they are garanteed too. Check it out sometime and tell us what you think. I do not have any pics up yet of the new motor though because it is being shipped
