Question: Should I restore original wheels and tires or buy big 5-spoke rimes with low-profile tires?

This is my baby. I got it from the original owner with 64,000 mi on the odo. Below the interior photos are before and after photos of the work I've done, more details and photos of the project on the later pages. Please take a moment to read the story behind the car on page 2.

The above two photos are of the interior. The interior of the car is immaculate, although a little "brittle" from age. But the car was always garaged so there is no sun damage and the owner didn't have a family so the back seats and passenger front seat are basically unused. And with 64,000 miles on the car, the drivers seat didn't get much abuse either!

I have cleaned and painted the engine compartment and installed a Chevy 350 in place of the old in-line 6. See more photos and details of the engine swap on page 3.

The front end is also entirely new (right photo). New bushings, sway bar, ball joints, performance springs, shocks, wheel spindles, the whole deal. Read more on the front-end rebuild on page 4.

I have completely redone the underside of the car. Took off all brake and fuel lines and gas tank, wired brushed all the rust, undercoated the entire car with POR-15. I then installed new stainless brake lines, a new gas tank with 3/8" sending unit, and stainless steel fuel lines. For more on the undercarriage see page 5.

I talk about the rear-end swap on page 6!
