UPDATE 3/07/08 I hit 100,000 miles today!

UPDATE 3/03/08 Alright so I haven't been on here in a long time. It's hard to get on here cause there's just so many things going on with school and shit. I'll be getting the oil leaks fixed this summer. Right now the wiring in the left head light is fucked up so I'll have that fixed on wednesday. Last weekend I decided that I needed something new so I went and bought a pair of Polk Audio db651 for the front doors. They sound a lot better than my Sonys of which the old ones are still there in the back. They were installed by Electronic Express cause I was crunched for time and needed them in asap. I also got a laser/radar detector which is pretty sweet. The speakers were $110 with tax and were $42 to install while the detector was about $55. Not too much progress, but it's headed in the right direction. Money is tight, but I am seriously considering getting a new header with a custom flex joint and also an aftermarket intake this summer. One of my fraternity brothers is very good at welding and competed in welding competitions in high school. I was thinkin about having him help me install the headers and doing the custom work on the flex pipe and intake.
I'll have pics of the speakers up soon.

Here is my car, a somewhat clean and yet simple Accord. I got this car from my grandmother and have had it since I was about ten. At first glance I thought,"what the hell is this?" I was soo disappointed, but things have changed. I struggled with the idea of getting another car, but my parents wouldn't budge. Everytime I would try to think about keeping the car I would get sad because there were many other faster cars that were newer. It was an endless cycle of ups and downs, but as the years have passed I have come to love the car. I'm in the class of '06 in highschool and this car has been with me through a lot of history. I couldn't bear to part with it, so I won't. I'll keep it forever. Everything about it is unique, that's partly why it's soo damn hard to find parts. The car is very clean with it's sharp lines and those flip up lights. Yeah it may be an '86 with SOHC, but it can keep up with a lot of the new cars. I'm not saying it will beat them or tie them even, but it makes all those whose go against it work hard to beat it. That might be due partialy to the fact that the A20A3 makes 110hp and 114lb-tq stock, and the car is very light.

8/14/05: It's been a while since anything has really happened to the car. I didn't have anything done on it till near the end of the summer. Here is my car with its' new $1500 paint job . Yeah $1500! It was painted at Macco in Hickory Hollow. After they painted it I have to wait two months before I can wax it. One more month to go, then I can rest easier. The school parking lot absolutely terrifies me, it's soo dangerous for my paint. I don't trust anyone with my car, even my parents. I also got a muffler from Pep Boys which sucked because their service is horrible and it took two weeks for the part to go from Texas to Tennessee. Batey's Muffler shop installed it for me and it cost waayyy tooo much, $100. But at least it is installed and installed well. Keep in mind: when I took these pictures the car was DIRTY and had NO wax on it.

12/16/05: Hey it's been a while since I have updated. Well I haven't really had the money to do anything with the car but now that I'm done with school for the semester I'll be able to work at Outback Steakhouse for a little while. I've been soo busy with school and extra stuff that I haven't even been able to put a coat of wax on the car! I know I really need to but it's hard to find the time because I'm a perfectionist. I had no trouble getting through the time of high gas prices. Manuals are awesome cause you have the most control over the car. If you want to have a lot of power then you can just keep the revs high; for gas mileage you can keep the rev's low and coast. But I have a major problem on my hands. My clutch has been slipping like crazy to the point that I don't even know how I'm able to drive the car. I'm taking the car to a good friend of my family's over at Firestone to have him take a look. I also want four new tires because I'm convinced that the current ones are from like '91 or '92. As well, when I was rotating the tires one of the lugs snapped off. I now have three lugs holding on my left front wheel! But now that I'm on Christmas break I can get everything fixed. :)

On a different note, A friend of mine had to sell his '74 Corvette, :( . I really liked the car eventhough it had a lot of work needing to be done to it. But he has an '84 Supra that he's going to drop a turbo straight six into. 250hp stock!!!! Wow, his car already murders mine so I can't wait to see the finished product.

01/06/06: Well, the car has been fixed and drives FINE now. It is soo much quicker. They had to replace the flywheel as well. Why does everyone have to clean their car after they take it to the mechanic. They should employ people who are clean to drive the cars. Infact, when the non-clean people get a day-off, they should have to come in and be a clean person for the day. That way no one would be tired of being a clean person all the time. Wow, that was retarded. lol

My 18th b-day is coming up soon. I'm trying to get clear turn signals and corner lights. $92 shipped

2/5/06: So the B-day was sweet and I got my lights. The install is on page five. I didn't get the clear turn signals 'cause I could no longer find them on the internet. What's up with that, have they stopped making them or what? I can't clear the ones that I have because the color is in the plastic, it's not a separate piece. :(

3/15/06: My school is having spring break next week. Because of the baseball games that we have I won't be going anywhere, so maybe I'll be able to put some wax on the car.? I'm not quite sure if it's going to happen but I'll try. Either the tweeter or the midrange in my right front speaker is making wierd noises. The surrounds of the speakers in the back are fried so I want new speakers all the way around, or at least in the back. They've been in there for almost two years now and I think that it's about that time. But I guess I'll have to wait for the summer to make some money. Hopefully I'll be able to do some considerable work on the car in the sound and performance areas.

4/4/06: I'm just waiting for the summer to put on the wax cause the spring is having crazy weather. I got into a very small accident a few days ago. The damage consists of cracked styrofoam in the bumper (no biggie), a missing small flake of paint from under the bumper (you have to bend over to see it), and the right front bumper signal is cracked and missing a piece. It'll be like $40 to replace the light, but other than that all is good. There was no damage to her van so I'm pretty lucky. :)

4/29/06: I cleaned my car for prom and now I gonna keep it clean cause it looks amazing when it's clean. I saw an old friend of mine last night. He drives a Ford Contour with an intake, exhaust, and rims. We pulled alongside eachother at 30mph and then just launched from there. I dropped it into second and I was inching forward, then I hit third. At this time we're going 65-70mph and I was coming up on the car in front of me so I backed off. I could tell though that I would beat him if we kept going. I have to start somewhere right? Then why not here.

5/13/06: The old tires had dry rot so I got some new ones from Firestone. They had dry rot cause they were over ten years old. The news tires feel better and squeal different. My current tire size is P185/80R13, sad as it may be. But these new tires might only be temporary replacements. I made a deal with my parents that if I can keep up a B average for my freshman year in college then they'll buy me some rims. The rims will be 16x7 ASA AR1's cause going too big would be uncomfortable and heavy. The tires would be P205/50HR16 in order to keep the overall diameter as close as possible. The wheels would be the silver version of the rims on page two(the black ones don't come in 16's.)
Now that it's almost summer I'll be able to make some money to finance my car and it's upgrades. I'm definitely getting an intake after my first paycheck. I also want to get either a single sub system or some new speakers all around. Pacesetter sells a ceramic coated header for my engine which would be nice in order to allow the engine to breathe a little bit better.

5/23/07: Screw getting new speakers, I need some type of performance upgrade. I'm dead set on getting an intake and possibly a short throw shifter this summer. There's a leak in the rear main seal on my transmission and another one in the distributor seal. I need to get those fixed and get some other parts from the junk yard to replace a few little things here and there.

if you're still looking for clear signal lights, try the 86 integra's signal lights on ebay, they should fit the accord just as well as they fit my 86 crx.. if you're not sure, take a look at it next time you go to a junkyard and check before you buy.
