THE WORK BEGINS Here's the correct date coded engine that will be going back in the car. It has been bored, balanced and bullet proofed. It's probably about 300HP. Even found a correct carb and distributer so it will be as close to numbers matching as you can get without being #'s matching. Although I have built a TH350 to replace the old PG. My original intention was to do a frame on restoration but the deeper I dug the worse things got. I pulled the front fenders to get the SS badge holes welded and found the passenger side of the subframe severely mangled. Someone had heated it, beat it with a sledge hammer and stuck some kind of puddy on it to hide the damage. I couldn't put it back together like that so I went to the junk yard and picked up a new subframe. Here it is after six hours of cleaning. Wasted effort because I ended up taking it to Portland Powder Coating where they media blasted it and powder coated in a beautiful black satin. Here is the subframe after the powder coating. The picture doesn't do it much justice but it really looks nice.
