Page 1 - My lj torana

If you like my ride be sure to sign my guestbook and let me know what you think!

This is my LJ torana 4 door. 202 red top motor + 60 thou fully reconditioned with a 5 speed supra gearbox. i bought it when i was 14 for $1500 and dad and i have been building it for 7 - 9 months now. Spent just over $850 on chrome work. Just about finished. When it is road worthy the first thing i would like to do is put on tripple su's and try get it in street machine mag. The only reason i didnt chuck in a 350chev v8 was because i ran out of money. Will do it sometime down the track. Here are some pics. Tell me what you think.

First thing - Changed from 3 spd auto to 5 speed manual. Also converted mechanical clutch to hydrolic clutch.

Hired engine jack - $60 for the weekend to pull out the engine to get reconditioned.

Just after the undercoat. In this picture u can also see it still has the original holden wheels

First coat of green and fine filled

Just finished custom boot for 2 subs, amp and spare tyre

Close up of boot. 2 clarion 12 inch subs, and custom hatch for spare tyre compartment

Showing full boot. Including green neon with built in switch near boot lock. ( got the chrome handle for the spare tyre hatch from boat yard

Back view in garage ( still got the chrome fuel cap to go on and the chrome taillight surroundings instead of the black powdercoated finish.

front view showing the brand new windscreen i had put in. Also u can see the chrome brake cooler under the car. I also ordered a brand new full torana rubber kit from Melbourne which was just under $1000

Front view. ( All rechromed engine parts and front section )

Some pics of the engine complete.

I also had the fan, the bonnet hinges and springs chromed.

Outside finished side view 01

Picked up these old alloy wheels at a wrecking yard for $40 each and polished them up and repainted the insides black. Then fitted them into 4 brand new Bridgestone tyres.(considering getting new chrome mags later on.)

Interior fully stripped. Sound deadened and rust proofed the whole inside of car.

4 weeks later. monza steering wheel, gauges in dash, ford escort console, package shelf on left hand side. racing pedals, fully reupholsterd dash, clarion cd player ( $750 ). New gearknob and also cut out the switches in the escort console and replaced them with 2 satellite speakers.

New roof lining, New roof lights from ford escort. And picked up the black roof handles from an lx torana at a wrecking yard. ( Still waiting on the headrests for the front seats.)

Full interior showing custom off white carpet dad and I fitted ourselves.

Just fitted all new retractable seatbealts

2nd last thing to be done to the car. Door linings.

A few more finished pics of the car.
