Timeline/Journal type thing..nothing too Important Just a lot of Info
I stopped by Auto Zone to have them test my battery voltage, the guy who tested my battery asked me what kind of car it was..it's really nice.. I told him it's an Intrepid..he looked surprised and said really ? I have an Intrepid at home..but mine looks nothing like this....I guess that was a compliment..either that or the guy was really dumb....My battery was putting out 5 Volts with a load..which prompted my next move...
JAN. 16, 2009 : Brand new Interstate Battery thanks in part to my last Interstate battery being 7 years old....and the nail in the coffin, couple nights of -11 to -33 degree temperatures in a row. $130.00 and 1 hour flat at the dodge dealership.
Why you may ask did I have the dealeship do this instead of myself..1 main reason. IT'S BELOW ZERO OUTSIDE ...other reasons: I dont want to have to take the tire off to get to the battery, IT'S BELOW ZERO OUTSIDE!!
Feb. 15 2009: More work done on gauge cluster evolution .. Re-Tinted glass with 20% which is still darker than double 35% tint....Put my Stainless Steel gauge bezel on the 300M cluster....Removed white led singles and I am changing them to either 8 3mm leds OR a white led strip just like the blue one. ALSO while I had this apart I put a couple more layers of blue on my digital displays to KEEP them looking blue ... I went with 4 green leds where the white were mainly for daytime driving when necessary ALSO added a led strip to match the blue one.. (more info in section titled Gauge Cluster Evolution on Page 2-pics of most recent soon). Took my 300M clock that I am molding into my dash and tinted the face 35% so it can easily be seen in the daytime but still matches my tinted cluster.
Feb. 28 2009: Pulled my OTIS (overhead console) out & re-wired everything with 22 gauge wiring so the piece fits against the headliner flush like it should.(had 18 gauge before). Put a few more layers of Blue on my digital displays to keep them true blue ( a little of the green was still shining through before ).............I will be re-wiring my center console cup holder mod also...The wiring is pretty tight in there also..because it is a moving part..
Mar. 05 2009: Pulled out my headliner and am covering it in a charcoal colored suede like material, They didnt have the color I wanted in suede so I went with my next choice..What I got actually feels and looks better than suede in my opinion (personal preference) Taking apart the visors are a bitch to say the least ..but I am determined ! I am not simply wrapping the headliner & visors but I am taking it a step further.. Pics soon.
Mar. 05 2009: Pulled my Heater control unit (HVAC) and fixed the uneven lighting on the buttons, Installed 2 white 3mm leds to Illuminate the indicator line on the knob (which now matches my headlight switch) ......... Also on Mar. 5: Took off my door panels and figured out which wires are Illumination for the door panels and courtesy lights..... Installed the Auto side mirror adjustment switch which I modded with blue & white leds (not an easy mod) ..Just have to finish the led swap for master window switch and door lock switches.
YOU DONT HAVE TO RUN NEW WIRE INTO YOUR DOORS TO INSTALL LEDS / NEONS
Mar. 23 2009: Took headlights out..took ONE apart and painted some of the reflector flat black..changed up the LED set up in the light.. I had to go out and get some more paint so I had to put the lights back in..Will finish the other light this week..now the car looks like it's got a black eye..lol ( should get a pic of that but probably wont) . The dodgeintrepid.net method of taking the light apart did not work at all for me..(the oven deal) so I used a utility knife, screw drivers, and heat gun .. Will update and pic soon.
Mar. 24 2009: Mounted my 300M clock today..went with a better location..required some pretty precise cutting..and some removing of dash bracing (about 1") But the Location is Perfect.. I'm glad I bought the $8 Harbor Freight Dremel type thing..it's Incredibly useful ..I've already got my money's worth out of it !! ..as with everything..pics soon.. I have to go out to my parents house to use the camera..I dont have my own ..Cant justify spending the $ on one for the amout I would use it ......
Mar. 27 2009: Did some wiring got a lot of lighting goin in .... Started my spare battery, capacitor, 200 amp relay, circuit breaker Mounting rack..This is going in the front half of the spare tire well and will be hidden in a partially sealed enclosure*bottom, rear , partial sides, and top* The rear will be open to allow any necessary ventilation and to allow wires to be freely ran through & easy access if needed.
Mar. 28 09: Got Illuminated ignition ring (Thanks to Meanmugga for the deal) ..Installed and changed light to white..just needs to be wired up so it dims down with the interior lights.
Mar. 31 09: While working on a panel (cutting it down) My utility knife slipped and cut a 4" gash in the palm of my hand which required 14 stitches..so I wont be doin much with the car for a week or 2 ..gotta give this time to heal
Below the dates jump around a bit..
11-2-08 : So this past month I havent been really working on much besides little things here N there. I got my turn signals and cruise control indicators on my gauge cluster changed to blue led's, I have been doing some investigation into seeing if I can mount my cd player face away from the guts of the head unit (I know this can be done ..but SOME have a limitation on the voltage and dont allow you to mount it too far apart) I want to be sure before I go tearing apart a $700 head unit! I spent a couple hours last night sanding on my clear headlight covers, got sick of it and decided to go off and drop a sanding disk in my drill (bad idea...now I have to do a little body filler work because it melted the acrylic a little) ... I guess hours of sanding slowly shut off brain function..
10-15-08 : One thing I hate about fall and oak trees..all the damn acorns falling.. One actually fell and poked a dime size hole into the top of my ventvisor..either that or a stick hit it just right...just a hole..no crack or break past the circumfrence of the hole.. E-bay has some nice looking ones to replace mine..with a little more smoother style ...before I take my old ones off i'm going to paint them white to see how it would look...if they look good i'll do the new ones. I am goind through winter with the tiny hole....it's over the rear window.
10-01-08 : Cut out holes in A pillars to mount my Alpine tweeters in..hole is perfect size tweeter sits and stays with friction...I am still going to fill in around the tweeter with body filler to smooth out the transition between pillar and tweet
(Painting right now-10-3-08 **12 hour shifts suck when youre trying to do mods to your car)....Looking into where i REALLY want my 5 1/4's.
9-24-08 : Did some more work on cup holder mod..will finish tonight and wire everything up when I decide exactly where my toggle cluster is gonna be, Right now toggle cluster will be in one of 4 or 5 areas..I think the only practical place for them is under the armrest..in the center console..I just have to plan ahead cos I still want to be able to remove the console if I need to..so cant permanantly cover up the mounting screws...AND I kinda would like to be able to use the 12v supply in there to use on my cell charger..so I might have to relocate that one..or move the one from the ash tray area to the glove box considering I will rarely need to use it.
9-20-08 : Did some painting in the engine compartment last weekend..Gave it a lil spice....I am planning on painting the rest of this piece black..and masking off the letters better..I couldnt get my masking tape to stick inside of some sections of the letters/numbers 6,2,A,E....and gonna have to look into a different masking tape so the paint dont bleed out under like it did when painting the white..the plastic has a bit of a texture which causes bleeding, I'll figure it out :) ....My engine is Extremely dirty...it shows up so good in the pics..I'm ashamed..

Sept. 08 -Changed my 300M EL gauge cluster and shifter selector w/autostick lettering..to blue.. pics soon. UPDATED Mid..Sept.08-Added 4 white leds inside the cluster and a 12" led strip behind them..on seperate toggles . The white looks really classy, the blue looks good..and together..they look great . Pics as soon as I get everything finished. I also added the double 35% window tint on the gauge cluster "glass"
Sept. 08 -All digital displays color changed from green to blue (pics up)
Moving my toggle switches to a new location, got tired of the current location. The hardest part of re-wiring all of your lighting accessories..is deciding what items to group together on a switch..
August : Got on ebay and purchased some blue vinyl film/tint, adding that to my side mirrors (rvinyl tint wont work for mirrors..it has a slight texture that makes stuff blurry ) so I decided to use this on my fog lights considering I didnt buy enough to cove r the headlights ...Rvinyl says this wont change the light output..but does give the light a nice blue HID tint..considering buying more for headlights . I have street glow blue bulbs in all of my lights 9005xs, 9006xs, & H3. Turn signals are Blue,Pilot name brand 3157, Interior 194 bulbs are blue, pilot bulbs too.

Removed my EL viper al arm indicators and using 2 pairs of white street glow headlight led's as my indicator lights one pair in reverse light section and the other pair in my head lights. Main reason I decided to do this..is because one of my el displays is 10 times brighter than the other (older one) and instead of buying another el display I am just using what I have layin around that might never get used for any other project.....UPDATE : I found a DEI alarm indicator that I forgot I had..it has 5 leds that flash in 3 different sequences(you choose the sequence by cutting certain wires on the unit... when I bought this I also got blue leds to replace the red ones that came with it, Thinking about mounting the leds in my headlights 4 of them red,blue....&....blue,red...then using the center led and running that to the rear of the car tapping into that wire and adding another led and in my reverse light section doing blue..&..red. I just might have to check local laws first..but when my alarm is on..I will be sitting still...dont think lights reguardless of color are illegal when sitting still, Flashing..that MAY be another story.....another option is mounting them to the back of my rear view mirror.
Just bought some LED's on ebay I will use what I need, and sell the rest of them. I got 50 green 5mm leds with resistors for $6.00 I plan on using some of them in my head lights, Tail lights, and a couple in the interior here n there just as accents. Blue and white will be my main colors.
I got a little somethin goin on with a couple red leds too..and a pair of street glow headlight strobes (red)..still not sure where theyre goin ....i'm thinkin possibly the head lights..or deep under my dash.....if anyone wants to buy them..let me know! The red 5mm leds are not very bright unless youre looking directly at them so the project I had them intended for might require double or triple the amount of leds I wanted to use which is ok I got 20 to work with.

9-15-07*** Car Paid off!!
1-09-08*** Lost job cos I was making too much $$..First they got rid of some Engineers, Supervisors, Then me..cos I was making $14.90 and doing a job that top pay was $9.75...... Longer story but I'm not takin the time to type it all out because I'm sure no one really cares..lol... but I got screwed Bottom Line!
7-01-08***Some idiot wanted my short antenna more than I did apparently and took it..worst part is that radio shack dont carry car accessories like that anymore..found a few on ebay for triple the price..but f*ck! I HATE long metal antennas....
7-06-08***Got antenna replaced but couldn't find exact one like I had..still looks good though- Paid $9.99 + $3.00 shipping...and before it arrived..I found the exact same one at Meijer for $7.99(scoche namebrand).. wish I would have checked before I relied on ebay THAT TIME ..!!!
7-03-08***Walked out to find my drivers side mirror broken in a quarter sized circle...a passing car must have kicked up a rock..went right inside and got a replacement on ebay-$19.99 total w/shipping.. Looks perfect,Installing it in the morning!!
4-07-08*** I'm workin a deal with some dude to get a body kit in trade for some stereo equipment..i'll let you know how that turns out.
______________________________________________________________
4-14-08***(( GOT BODY KIT ))***here's some pics from where I picked it up. Traded my memphis 300/4, an old set of boston acoustics 6x9's and a very old set of 6 1/2" Kicker impulse components(97 model year..or maybe 98)...
I like this kit..but I dont care for the plate for the rear bumper where the lisence plate is to be mounted..it will be modified before Installation...
Cant wait to get em painted and installed!!!
I am considering doing a slight white to charcoal fade on the kit.. Or maybe some ghost graphics, I already have pearl white paint waiting for a worthy project....Will have to draw it out and see how it will look before I dive in with the spray gun..
HERE IS A TIP!!!!!! ...if you drive your intrepid to pick up a AAS body kit make sure you have absolutely nothing in your trunk and it would be best to remove your rear seats and the passenger seat before you go to pick it up...It will save you a whole lot of manipulating of the kit to get it in your car just right....It was like a giant fiberglass puzzle gettin that thing in there ...and I could not see out of any of my mirrors..except my drivers side mirror.. all I could see was kit..lol That made the hour and a half drive home interesting..it was cool till I wanted to change lanes to the right, which was only necessary when passing on the right.I hate driving behind people!
July,23,08 -I am doing the initial sanding of the kit, Filling any scratches or tiny nicks with bondo.. I am slowly gettin these steps done..I think I have A.D.D. cos I never complete a project when I start it...always get side tracked and it ends up taking me a month or more to complete.. If I had an actual shop type work area I might do more...but i'm doin this in my living room on saw horses ..while watching tv..I have no choice but to be side tracked.. UPDATE : This project is on the back burner considering it's winter pretty much..I think I worked on it for like 2 hours total..lol
By the way...sorry about the page dates going back n forth....I changed the format up half way through.
