2001 Dodge Intrepid ES
Mileage: (Moved further down page)
Just a little FYI..I'm a little upset that some of my pics no longer work on my page..even if I replace them with the pics from "my pictures" this happened around the time of the site screw up... sorry about the missing pics.. I am planning a complete page overhaul soon..when I get the time to do it .. I have a lot of things that need to be moved from page 1..to it's rightful page.. and a couple other things I want/need to change with the whole thing..
Most recent updates..posted on first page for a couple weeks then moved to page 8
Nov. 21: Not much goin on lately.. but last weekend took off rims and put factory rims back on for winter MAINLY because 2 of my xtreme contact tires are veeeery low on tread..and would be totally useless this winter, I got 1 new one on ebay..will be looking for another for spring......to the factory tire "story".. 2 of my factory tires are still in good shape.. used the full size spare tire which is the exact same tire that they used on the rest of the car (had them put the best out of the 2 bad ones on the spare rim..why not?) .. and had to buy just 1 tire..had them all put on the rims.. took them home and put em on myself.. while I had the tires off.. I touched up any bad spots from when I painted the rotors, calipers, and all other visible suspension in the wheel wells.. I cleaned the hell out of the factory rims before putting them back on..they still look pretty damn good considering I havent used them for years..lol.. Ummmmm.. that's pretty much it I guess..... enjoy the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday!!
Nov.2: My fog light led finaly blew..so I'm gonna re'do it with a resistor..I wanted to see if that bulb was illuminated with a lower voltage..guess there's other ways I could have checked that..but I'm not a rational person..lol
Nov. 1: All interior is back in except for the center console and headliner... I took HVAC out and tested the white lights again, they work in the house again..but not in the car..it's starting to get on my nerves a little..... Not much time to update I'll do it soon as I get time.Puttin pic up of mod I did to the glove compartment.. 4 white 5mm leds that come on with the switch. also modified another switch for my mod I am doing for the center console... pic of how I did that too..below.
Oct. 25: Changed Oil..and added Z-max.(I would recomend using it to everyone with over 80,000..or people just wanting to protect their engine a little better)... that stuff works GREAT!!!..I had a light tick/knock..all gone..matter of fact it's purring like a kitten..I can hardly tell it's running... Guess it should work good for costing $34.99 lol ..when I get down to 1/2 tank of gas I'm using the fuel treatment....I havent been doing anything with the car..but need to get it winter ready.. factory rims back on, cooling system flush, and I want to get a transmission fluid change just to be safe.. and I need to put my interior back in to give me some insulation for the winter.. Editing is jacked up.. I cant get my font to reset to the color I have it set up as..If I set it to white on here...I cant read it ..and it wont go to bold..I'm not re-writing all that..lol

Nov. 1 glove compartment mod..4 5mm leds light it up fully and brightly..unlike the factory pissy light solution.. and below is how I modded the switch..soldered +&- in the connection points... did 2 switches 1 for glove box and another for center console mod. ...... The glove box leds are shortened to about 1/8" protrusion into the glove box..and the cutting process frosts/sands the lens to diffuse the light perfectly..I am gonna have to put a thing or 2 in there to show how it lights the area up.

Oct. 7 well the Blue is good..now just need to get that damn white dash to work ..its being a major pain in the ass..lol ... btw..the bottom left of the unit the grid/slats where the temp is monitored.. I put a 3mm led in there FULLY sanded/frosted.. that's why the blue is a different shade.. but you know what...I'm not too sure if I give a f*ck to change it ..(MAYBE when I get back in there to fix the white leds) and the blue lighting on the knob it's self..is not from the inside of the unit...it's illumination from the dashes around the dial..
(see below a couple pics..how it looked a few weeks ago, then a few MORE pics down a few more wks before that)..I'll get the thing all the way perfect sooner or later..
Sept. 6 Left pic shows the dial Illumination: selector switch white & rest of switch blue.
Right pic shows fog light Illuminated with single blue 3mm led. (no resistor needed) YET! very bright! I wanted it that way..glad it turned out how I wanted.
(blues dont match up in pic but do in real life See "note" below)
This is my HVAC after re'lighting the buttons..you can see how theyre mounted a few pics down the page. now I have complete glow with no light spots.
Just need to fix the white leds in the dial and I'm set.
NOTE: the leds that I sanded down the ENTIRE led, light shows up as a nice vivid blue in pics..The buttons leds I sanded just the end of the led..theyre brighter..but more aqua looking in pics. Not in person though, The vivid blue shows up as a dim washed out blue in person and the Aqua looking blue shows up bright blue in person. (this will be fixed soon)-HAS BEEN FIXED NOW
Below 3 pics show Interior at it's present state..not much left. wires everywhere I'm pretty careful but just in case I got the car fire extinguisher close by where the back seat SHOULD be. if you're bored see what you can find..lol
Aug. 31
I finally got around to finishing my headlight switch.. the white spot on the dial is illuminated with a white led..the rest of the switch is illuminated in Blue.. this is just a pic of my fog light indicator light..it's a single 3mm led (not diffused or resistored) I want to see how long it will last without a resistor..but for now it's bright as hell..see pics ( it's about 5pm sunny day when pic was taken).
Thought I'd throw this one in..cos I find it funny...I am mid way through with re'lighting my HVAC and I have to finish the white illumination of the dial .. this is how it sits in my car A.T.M...Aug. 31
Super Blue Digital Displays,Accomplished!
Selling materials needed to do this mod yourself or I can do it for you for cost of shipping, materials, and some for my time and effort..Message me if interested !!
For material to do yourself $8.00 for cars with the 4 digital displays
$4.00 for cars with just the 2 displays in gauge cluster (no digital HVAC or OTIS)
If you want me to do the mod for you..we'll figure the cost for USPS Priority shipping.
Mirror Switch...The most difficult switch to modify in the vehicle... Dual Color !
I am charging $25 to do this mod for people If interested let me know! $14 of it is labor, take it apart and you'll see why.. dual color, single color,I have blue/ white/red leds in.. but can get other colors..just let me know which color you want.
Temporary Update ..where my 300M clock is mounted: perfect positioning When in driving position I can see the clock through the steering wheel with no obstructions, I think this is the perfect spot if you dont mind cutting the dash sub frame a little.
I have 2 leds mounted in the clock..switchable Blue or White..& the face is tinted 35% to match the gauge cluster tint (20% was too dark for the clock)... I'll get better pics later..I had access to the camera so I got the pic...wires hanging and all that..I didnt even waste time cropping the water bottle out..

A couple ppl have asked if I had a new paint job..or how I keep it looking new.. I just remembered that when I bought the car ..I went to Zeibart and got the Diamond Gloss treatment done to it..which is a paint protectant.. and I guess keeping it fairly clean helps too......... You're supposed to have it re'done every year or something.. but I only got it done once the year I got the car..it still looks pretty damn good..aside from the TINY orange spots that need wet sanded off of the rear.

**** EXTERIOR ****
Pic was taken after I had the car for about 3 months...
Full bra(bumper cover used when I do highway driving, hood protector stays on from time to time but RARELY anymore), AVS Headlight covers w/small dodge ram decal , Tinted tail lights and fog lights ..all put on within the first 3 months after I bought it + complete stereo system upgraded ....35% tint job all around and 1/4 way down the front windshield ..35% Tint registered at 14% Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) on cop meter...I only know this cos I got pulled over and they felt it necessary to tell me that..lol !

****Rims & Tires****
18" ADR RSLimited wrapped in 245/45/18 continental xtreme contact tires
( went with 45's cos roads are crap around here)...
Close up of the Rims...Wish they were still in this NEW condition..
I paid $400 total SHIPPED for the rims brand new from Illinois (E-Bay).. and I paid $840 + tax for the tires ($210 each) LOCAL. UPDATE: Got a brand new Xtreme contact tire $125 shipped off of ebay to replace 1 of the 2 fronts that are pretty low on tread..guess I should rotate tires occasionally huh? (( watching ebay for another in like new condition )) I will never pay $200+ per tire again..lol
Tread pattern
Blacked out Tails & 3rd brake bar/ I have 3rd brake lights unhooked Looks better to me.
Updated tail lights I sanded down the reverse section of the light..taped it off..and repainted the rest with nightshades..Now I can see when backing up.
Missing I ..It's somewhere on I-75 between Wapakoneta and Shawnee Ohio...Lost & Forgotten

Took intrepid badge off of the trunk, I think it looks much cleaner now...even more clean when I get the trunk lock removed.
*** photoshopped pic (right) showing what removed trunk lock will look like ***
UPDATED TAIL LIGHTS
These are the updated tail lights I just got done painting..custom masking done with window tint and wire spools to get accurate rounded edges..did one light coat of Niteshades on the brake light section to blend it better..left the amber turn signal lights and reverse lights clear(no niteshades) Broke the amber turn signal area into sections to better match with the reverse light design.. Painted with Metallic black and a few coats of clear..also fully painted the 3rd brake bar all the way across Met. black. As you might be able to notice in the picture..I sanded down the raised lettering and the crosshair thing that was molded into the tail light ..I need to sand this down on the 3rd brake bar they were done at different times.....anyway here are the pics... UPDATE : couple wks later. decided I wanted to give the amber a shot of Niteshades too..I liked it at first..but now it's not really doin it for me..will do this mod this weekend..HOLIDAY weekend!!
And the night shots.. you can see the shape of the masked off areas a bit better.. I have 2 5mm blue leds in each of the reverse light sections..but not hooked up to a switch yet so pics soon.
Short antenna (this is the new one ... old one got stolen) note: I used a rubber spacer because this antenna does not screw all the way down to the base Luckily I had one that fit the gap..perfectly.

Street Glow headlight/fog light LED's installed.. There is 1 led in each fog light, 2 leds in each head light! I get a lot of compliments on this mod.
Sorry bout the blurry pics. I plan on updating this mod.
Just the Pilot Blue bulb white light output parking lights/turn signals (insanely bright) when turning signal is on I have noticed the light reflecting off of street signs as far as 2 blocks away.. they're hard to see in direct sunlight though..their only downfall
Back when the fog lights were tinted with niteshades...They are currently blue. This pic is from around 2003 (headlights still look the same but have been painted flat black ..the inside reflectors anyway) .. pics of that soon.
_____________________________More recent pics _____________________________
Blue vinyl film from Rvinyl makes the street glow blue H3's light output more vivid blue Street glow 9006XS,9005XS,and H3..More than enough output for me (considering doing the headlights with the same blue film..gonna have to check with the coppers to see if they're gonna pull me over as if I was a criminal..if I put em on) .. Oct. 7:the gas station attendant was blowin a load at how much he liked how the blue fogs looked this morning..5:30am.. I just wanted to get a Monster energy drink n go..lol
FYI: In the fog lights I removed the deflector so the light isnt diffused .. they are pretty damn bright and about 75% of the time I use them as my driving lights (In town driving)
The Head light bulbs I use..Street Glow Xenon white. I also have Luminics Bulbs (pure blue) but have yet to install them...Might switch all bulbs to Luminics Pure blues.
Light output from the Luminics Pure Blue bulbs (not actual pic of car)
Clear GTS headlight covers I got off ebay for $ 5.00 and painted the amber portion of my headlight's (turning signal area) with frosted glass spray paint..then nightshades over top of it to make it less transparent ..also painted the top portion of the cover white .
UPDATED HEADLIGHTS..& A Night shot or 2
Took apart my headlights and painted some of the reflector flat black.. why pay $$$150 Minimum to BUY Black Diamond head lights when you can make them yourself for about $15 and some effort... I got some crazing from putting them in the oven which caused me to have to wet sand the shit out of them.. but it was worth it..and I got to use my new power buffer for the first time on them... I am going to clearcoat them so I dont have to keep wet sanding them.
Lowbeam below,Camera sucks picking up light, I use my fogs for driving lights the'yre bright!
deflectors are removed inside fog light housings
_____________________________________________________________________________
Painted the engine lettering white
AAS BODY KIT..I plan on modifying this before mounting it so it will be installed when I'm happy with the look...(AAS= Andy's Auto Sports) ... I really hate them side skirts..I think I may just make my own from scratch..
The Black mesh I will be using, Its not that cheap gutter stuff ..
______________________________________________________________________
Rear windows were tinted 35% (14% according to cop meter).. I later added a layer of 5% Limo Black tint on top of that...so needless to say..they're DARK! Front windows are legal I took off the tint on the fronts to comply with the law..
The police dont like not being able to see you apparently...being pulled over about 9 times for window tint was enough for me, 3 times by the same cop..Never got a ticket..just multiple warnings spread over 3 counties... Tint laws suck!
DODGE & Street Glow decals ..SG decal is hidden when the window is all the way up.
Window tint from inside the car..notice how bright it is outside looking through the front window...BLINDING.
* headliner still out
