2001 Dodge Intrepid ES
Most recent updates..posted on first page for a couple weeks then moved to page 8
June 30- Tonight I absolutely did not feel like doing anything..I tried to force it..but just moved a few things around..and sat in my little plastic outdoor chair and stared off into the tree branches..lol...so tonight was a chill night for me
June 29- .. ... This sub box is takin me ages.. Glued whole box together, Duraglassed the pieces I wanted to, Vinyl on the sub face panels..mirrored aluminum on the floor and roof of the sub enclosure .. Tomorrow I think I'm gonna cut a plexiglass panel to add a little flair to the sub firing chamber to cover a seam while adding style..toss in a few leds..MAYBE I'll throw in the red strobes I have layin around that have no true place in my car at all..lol (doubtful that I'll use em though) depends on my mood... To put my box together I'm using 2" screws(every 2 inches), 1 1/2" brad nails (nail gun), Elmers wood glue, silicone sealant, Duraglass ...and if you want to count the spray adhesives for the vinyl and metal too..lol... should be damn stable. ............ I cut up a bunch of pieces of Plexi glass and Lexan ..to use in the lighting I plan on doing.... Bla bla....SUB boxes should be done tomorrow.. beauty panels are next on the list.. need to get my capacitor back from my brother..so I can finish my wiring.. Del Sol's charging systems suck. ..I think I got a good design for a amp rack..but need to wait till after July 13th..thats when my window is being re tinted 20%..I got plenty of projects to keep me company till then.
June 25- Got all 4 holes cut for my subs..through double 3/4" MDF ...surprisingly all 4 holes were absolutely perfect the first time..the sub fit in snugly with no play...holes pre drilled ..Tomorrow I am gonna do duraglass on the seams on the front panel..to strenthen it .. Vinyl the woofer mount panels..(white marine vinyl)..and measure and cut the mirrored aluminum sheets for the area between the subs top and bottom...neon will be installed .. Gonna get my rear window re-tinted with my lifetime warranty ..the tint is starting to separate from one of the defroster lines in the rear window..gonna get it done darker so if I go with my amps in the rear window area..I wont have to worry about them being visible ..not like I would ever put anything in so it can be removed easily..lol ... Umm..Tomorrow I think I'm gonna work on my beauty panel for when the rear seats are folded down...I am gonna have to do it in 3 sections cos I want to fill in that whole area so it looks right..will probably add some lighting effects to it...I am a lighting addict...
June 11 thru 24- Workin on little things here and there ..New style shift selector illumination..the EL wasnt cuttin it for me..the gauge cluster might get the same treatment..we'll see..also sanded down the shifter panel..so the textured look is gone..I need to get it smoother still..not sure if I want to go TOTALLY smooth or put a slight textured paint on it.., Running some wiring cos I am relocating my trunk release switch as well as adding a second switch...., sub enclosure..decided to go with a clam shell configuration with the 4 10" Memphis M3's ..box is about 80% done as ot tonight..( no sense in doing fiberglass for the woofer face with how the subs are going to be mounted) going to seal the seams with fiberglass instead of silicone.., cut the holes for the subs and cut the second top for the box..I did dual layers of 3/4" mdf on some of the walls of the enclosure to add strength . I got a few ideas on the beauty panels..but final decisions are yet to be made......... Been doing a lot of thinking so the WORK has been slow lately..I did make a lot of progress on the box tonight though..I think I'll cut a port to fire through the back seat armrest area....The amps have 4 possible homes...decision yet to be made on that too..... Door panel fiberglassing is going ok..got the rings made, got the major part of the rear of the door panel made..to seal it off and make it an enclosure (used 1/2" mdf).. I know how I want the crossovers mounted ..just got to cut the plexi, add the leds, stretch the fleece, spread the resin..yadda yadda...I know I'm missing some things..but it's 3:35am and I am sleepy..goin to bed!
Newest pics..on interior page May 27, 2009
Super Blue Digital Displays...Accomplished
$8 for the materials needed to do this mod yourself or I can do it for you for cost of shipping, materials, and some for my time and effort..Message me if interested !!
The most difficult switch to modify in the vehicle...Accomplished Dual Color Style!
I am charging $25 to do this mod for people If interested let me know! $14 of it is labor.
Temporary Update ..where my 300M clock is mounted: perfect positioning When in driving position I can see the clock through the steering wheel with no obstructions, I think this is the perfect spot. Modding the hole was a job..Good thing I got the $7 Harbor Freight rotary tool (dremel but way cheaper). The hole was absolutely perfect except for the very top there is about a 1/32 spot where I got a little heavy on the sanding..the adjustment buttons are a little oversized cos they refused to work freely..I wiggled the drill bit in the most precise way possible ...till they worked right...let me know what you think.... I was insanely close for the pic so it looks worse than it does in person.
I have 2 leds mounted in the clock..switchable Blue or White..& the face is tinted 35% to match the gauge cluster tint (20% was too dark for the clock)... I'll get better pics later..I had access to the camera so I got the pic...wires hanging and all that..I didnt even waste time cropping the water bottle out ..lol ....Enjoy the page !

I have done every bit of work on this car myself ..only things I did not do are install the alarm system..bit too much for me to want to deal with... and the rims..I dont have the equipment to mount/balance.

Rims & Tires
ADR RSLimited 18x9.5's wrapped in 245/45/18 continental xtreme contact tires( 9.5" wide)
(roads are crap around here)...
Close up of the Rims...Wish they were still in this NEW condition..
I paid $400 total SHIPPED for the rims brand new from Illinois (E-Bay).. and I paid $840 + tax for the tires ($210 each) LOCAL.... how rediculous is that ?!?! My rims are wider than 7.5 (9.5 actual)- the boxes below the rims are from a different set of rims. UPDATE: Got a brand new Xtreme contact tire $125 shipped off of ebay to replace 1 of the 2 fronts that are pretty low on tread..guess I should rotate tires occasionally huh.
Tread pattern
Blacked out Tails & 3rd brake bar/ I have 3rd brake lights unhooked Looks better to me.
Updated tail lights I sanded down the reverse section of the light..taped it off..and repainted the rest with nightshades..Now I can see when backing up.
Missing I ..It's somewhere on I-75 between Wapakoneta and Shawnee Ohio...Lost & Forgotten

Took intrepid badge off of the trunk, I think it looks much cleaner now...even more clean when I get the trunk lock removed.
*** photoshopped pic (right) showing what removed trunk lock will look like ***
Short antenna (this is the new one ... old one got stolen) note: I used a rubber spacer because this antenna does not screw all the way down to the base Luckily I had one that fit the gap..perfectly.

Street Glow headlight/fog light LED's installed.. There is 1 led in each fog light, 2 leds in each head light! I get a lot of compliments on this mod.
Sorry bout the blurry pics. I plan on expanding on this mod soon.
Just the Pilot Blue bulb white light output parking lights/turn signals (insanely bright)
Blue vinyl film from Rvinyl (a couple pictures down) makes the street glow blue H3's light output more HID bright blue Street glow 9006XS,9005XS,and H3..VERY bright..without the cost of HID systems ..
Back when the fog lights were tinted with niteshades...They are currently blue. This pic is from around 2003 (headlights still look the same but have been painted black ..the inside reflectors anyway) .. pics of that soon.
_____________________________More recent pics _____________________________
FYI: In the fog lights I removed the deflector so the light isnt diffused .. they are pretty damn bright and about 75% of the time I use them as my driving lights (In town driving)
The Head light bulbs I use..Street Glow Xenon white (More than bright enough). I also have Luminics Bulbs (pure blue) but have yet to install them.
Light output from the Luminics Pure Blue bulbs (not actual pic of car)
Clear GTS headlight covers I got off ebay for $ 5.00 and painted the amber portion of my headlight's (turning signal area) with frosted glass spray paint..then nightshades over top of it to make it less transparent ..also painted the top portion of the cover white .
RECENT UPDATE: I took apart my headlights and painted some of the reflector flat black.. why pay $$$150 Minimum to BUY them when you can do them yourself for about $10 and some effort... I got some crazing from putting them in the oven which caused me to have to wet sand the shit out of them.. but it was worth it..and I got to use my new power buffer for the first time on them.....Pics when I get em taken.

Since This section was about headlights..I want to share this product with those who havent heard of it.. it can be used on headlights to clear them up ..or ANY plastic surface that has surface scratches on them (unless they have some sort of coating on them..but I have used it on my gauge cluster, digital display covers on heater controls and overhead console and my headlights and it works wonderfully..
For deeper scratches or yellowed dull headlights..I use this product called QUIXX repair system ACRYLIC scratch remover, It comes with fine sand paper and a huge polishing cloth...I got mine from Wal-Mart (sold @ Auto Zone too)..This product is a little bit rare to find, at least I havent noticed it many other places. It says it's for acrylic but its fine for plastic... Strong enough for a man..made for a woman..lol
Just a side note..Plast x will work on yellowed dull headlights and deeper scratches..but it will take a LOT more effort to get it looking perfect or close to it.....I personally would use the QUIXX then finish it off with PLAST X ..

Painted the engine lettering white
AAS BODY KIT..I plan on modifying this before mounting it so it will more than likely be put on this spring...(AAS= Andy's Auto Sports) ... I really hate them side skirts..I think I may just make my own from scratch..we'll see how much I enjoy fiberglassing after the door project.. :)
The Black mesh I will be using, Its not that cheap gutter stuff ..

Rear windows were tinted 35% (14% according to cop meter).. I later added a layer of 5% Limo Black tint on top of that...so needless to say..they're DARK! Front windows are legal I took off the tint on the fronts to comply with the law..
The police dont like not being able to see you apparently...being pulled over about 9 times for window tint was enough for me, 3 times by the same cop..Never got a ticket..just multiple warnings spread over 3 counties... Tint laws suck!
DODGE & Street Glow decals ..SG decal is hidden when the window is all the way up.
Window tint from inside the car..notice how bright it is outside looking through the front window...BLINDING.
headliner still out
Here is a pic of the scar on my palm ..Injury which kept me from working on my car for a few weeks.. damn utility knife..slipped and cut about 3-4" or so into my hand meat ..I did a fillet cut ..14 stitches ..I have a pic before the stitches..but its on my phone and I have no idea how to put it on my comp havent tried yet.
