Exterior
Removed front bumper and made a new real bumper out of thick walled square tubing since the new nose requires the actual bumper to be gone, I figure it's too dangerous without one.
Removed rear bumper, dry fit new bumper and spoiler on to see how it would fit. Not so good apparently. Rear bumper fits by the tailights on each side, but does not fit underneith the quarter in the wheelwell by 2 inches on each side. The upper lip underneith the tailights sagged to a peak of an inch and half. So the modifying begins.
Took everything off, including knocking out the tacky lower windows. It was kind of like "Monster Garage", got a sledge and went nuts!
Cleaned up all the broken glass.
Shaved the windows with 16 gauge cold rolled steel. Raised the center lip and glassed it in to keep it in place.
Some slicing and dicing, trying to get the bumper to fit snug back into the quarters.
All jigged up ready to remove off the car to be glassed into place.
Put about 5 layers of high density woven mat.
All back on the car and a real nice fit at that.
Made a template onto cardboard to drill the holes centering the spoiler on the hatch using the wiper motor as a guide before shaving it altogether.
Seamless body process, lots of mudding.
The exterior is outfitted with a 9 piece Mugen super-flared bodykit. At first it was a full seamless car, but because this is my daily, i've been victimized by the odds. So partial seamless now exists. Due to the bumper car kings and queens on the road.
HID projection headlights glare at you with a pair of razor sharp fangs on the front. The grills are custom made and dipped in chrome. The hood has been lengthened and a design has been cut out to give it the extra edge, and not to mention the major drop in temperature with all that forced air in the engine compartment. The real bumper (behind the nose) was removed and a custom one was fabricated in order for this front end to fit.
In the rear, the 3 lower windows are shaved. A video camera resides in the middle. The taillights are pure clear. Another grill was fabbed and the custom exhaust tip was sent through the bumper itself.
"Green With Envy" has shaved everything except the door handles due to the hot pursuits from the boys in blue. A big no no here, for a daily. Gas door has been relocated to the door jamb for those tiredsome days when you just don't feel like standing up to fill your ride.
Many hours have been spent on paper before the graphics were finally cut and applied. The car's windows were left clear to further enhance the roomy looking interior.
Sideview shows the comet tails graphic design. 17" by 7" ADR Reaction rims outfit the front and 18" by 7.5" fill wells in the rear. 205 40ZR17 Yoko's were used in the front and 215 35ZR18 were the rubberbands surrounding the rear.
Candy flake green with a white convertible top CRX pancaked on the lawn at the airport field in a foggy day.
Rear end shot from the ground.
Aggressive Mugen Super Flared front end.
Driver's side door. In the mirror is the reflection of the NOS bottle behind the passenger seat.
Gas filler in the driver's door jamb.
