Microfiche and/or microfilm are small repoductions of images for portability and storage mostly used before the days of computers. Kinda like a PDF is a compressed version of an electronic image, but microfilm is a physical piece of film. Same stuff that comes out of an old 35mm camera but typically b/w and smaller. Many technical manuals for auto's are kept on microfiche due to the large amounts of storage a shop would have to have if they worked on many different types of rides.
