I found this to be one of my more useful ideas -better than the former. The rings my brother and I developed killed two birds with one stone, they allow me flexability with mounting depth and angle, which is controled by rubber stopers, hence offering a free-float mounting ring for the mids.

I used longer stoppers on the bottom to pitch the mid up for better imaging.

The stoppers were found in HD's screw/nuts/bolts isle.
