Hello All.
I picked this 924 up on Ebay a few weeks ago. It sat in some doctors garage for the last 25 years. The odometer is correct and yes it still works! This thing is like new! The interior has very little wear. No dash cracks, no seat rips, no leaky battery tray! I have ALL records, including the original hand written order to buy her in 1979. She was delivered in March of 1980. Has 16 wheels and the handling package.

In the few weeks I have had her, she has already shown her age. Starter ($80) seemed to quit, so I replaced it only to get the same click. Turned out to be a bad ground to the block. Then the shifter got sloppy and I lost 2nd and 4th, the bushings in the back were bad, just crumbled to pieces. After a transmission removal and $835, the shop got her fixed. (OUCH!) Not sure if there is a way to change those without dropping the tranny, at least I could not find one.

I have given her a tune up and added a new MSD coil. Added fog lights, remote power door locks, and a dash mat. A power trunk release awaits install as do brake dust shields. I want to add a new radio, but that budget has gone the way of the shifter bushings.

This is my third Porsche. First was a 1979 924. Then I upgraded to an 1985.5 944. Kept it 9 years, put 100,000 miles on it. One of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. But boy when something did go wrong is was pain in the pocket. Now I have this 924 turbo. After all the bugs get worked out, I am hoping it will be just as reliable. I was Porscheless for 2 years and it was killing me. These are such fun cars to drive. I am up to 27,800 now and loved ever mile.
More to come!
