"Trust me, I've tried everything to NOT have to drive this. But time has come, I need a car. ANY car."

You know you wanna see this story unfold.

WHY are you here? Either you're a fan of the car I drive, because you own one too, or maybe you're thinking of owning one. Or MAYBE you're browsing here as a twisted form of entertainment; to curiously explore the depths of the automotive food chain, to see how low it goes. If a Ferrari is a cloud in the bright sunny sky, and if a Benz is a dolphin at the surface of the ocean, basking in the warmth of the light, then where you are right now, it's pretty f*cking dark.

HISTORY. Read it.

The 1990 Chevrolet Sprint is actually a rebadged Suzuki car. Founded in 1909, and producing its first automobile in 1955, Suzuki Motor Corporation quickly became a key player in the Japanese automotive industry. In the spring of 1981, Suzuki accepted an agreement with General Motors Corporation to meet the increasing demand for small cars in North America; and with production assistance from Tokyo based Isuzu Motors Limited, which GM had a large stake in at the time, the Chevrolet Sprint was born.

Initially introduced in Japan as the SA-310, and later the Cultus, this tiny Suzuki car would see a variety of badges, and find its home in seemingly far and foreign places all over the world. In Europe, it was still officially a Suzuki, but now the Suzuki Swift. In South America it became the Chevrolet Swift, and in India it was the Maruti Esteem. Despite the various names it found around the world, it was North America, specifically Canada and the U.S.A. where it became the host to the most numerous rebadgings. In the land of the West, the diminutive car would be given names such as the Pontiac Firefly, Geo Metro, Suzuki Swift, Suzuki Forsa and of course, the Chevrolet Sprint.

That's ORIGINAL factory paint from 1990. A little bit of wetsanding, a thorough wash and it's looking new again. Any emblems that were peeling were simply shaved off.

This is the EPITOME of point A to B transportation. I got it for free on April 15th, 2005 with around 191900 kms on it. This is actually my second car, my first being a 5 spd 1986 Honda Accord. It had some problems though, and I need a car for work so I couldn't have it doing that.

The Sprint packs a 993cc Inline 3, weighing just 63 kg. it's capable of producing a TARMAC SHATTERING 55 hp and 58 lb/ft of tq and propelling the car to a blistering top speed of 145 km/h (90 mph). It has power NOTHING, including steering, windows or even the brakes. The brake discs are like the size of CD's, and about as thin. Engine modifications to mine include junkyard salvaged 3 spd auto transaxle that shifts into 2nd gear like whiplash.

That's about it, no $3000 AEM EMS, CAI, ball bearing turbos or FMIC's here. Engine work is done by my uncle at his shop on No. 5 Road in Richmond. The car runs flawlessly.

When I first got it, it was probably the dirtiest car I've ever seen. There was algae growing around the fenders, in the door sills around the hatch and everywhere you'd imagine. There was even some moss growing on it. The pics you see are a result of some long hours of detailing.

After some hard work, the interior was reborn into this, nice and clean, factory fresh.

Some soapy scrubbing, time, teflon and petroleum distillate and the interior's looking good again. The floormatts are kinda ratty, but I'm not about to splash $50 for new ones when the car was for free!

191963 km on it. Notice the stock radio, AM/FM only. This car is 100% stock with no plans to mod it.

I have the hatchback sedan version of the sprint, and it's suprising how much space there is in the back, believe it or not its got about as much footspace in the back as a 2003 Ford explorer. Not that it really matters, NO ONE is supposed to go in my car, no one's even supposed to know I drive this. Even with my Accord, only a few of my buddies knew I had it. Yeah, I'm the guy that parks on the FAR side of the parking lot and NEVER talks about his car.

The bench seat is a bench, no headrests or support at all. It also folds down to increase trunk space. The trunk's looking nice and clean, but it was nothing close to that when I got it. It was the dirtiest part of the interior.

Some of the tools I used to clean the car. They were practically new when I started, but by the time I was done I had put some serious mileage on them. The 2kg sledgehammer was used to pop a fender back into place haha.

fast_as_fcuk's 1990 Chevrolet SprintHere's the detailing kit I used to help make the car look the way it does. A cheap Simoniz kit I picked up at Canadian Tire. I wasn't gonna splash for 303 and Zaino when the car was FREE. The Simoniz kit worked really well though, and for the price it's impressive what it does. It also came with a good quality microfiber cloth, but I lost that somewhere. I probably should've taken some before pics, but you can kinda imagine what a 15 yr old car thats practically never been washed looks like. The products are sittin on the decklid of the the car I'd rather be driving to work, the pearl white 2002 Honda Civic.
