GHETTO COLD AIR INTAKE
'HOW TO'
1) Mount adapter to the stock air box snorkel.
Utilize your fingers inside of the air box to manipulate the adapter over the snorkel.
Modify Clamp to shape of opening
2)Place the clamp over the air box end of the adapter and snug it down.
3) Locate the bolt that is holding the lower plastic pan/Driver side.
At this time, make the cut on the plastic pan utilizing a shear. Slow cuts for a close fit.
4)
Estimate the angle of the elbow so the larger opening (female coupler) is facing towards the upper elbow. Mark the approx. location of the bolt hole then remove the elbow.
5)
At this time, estimate the cut to the elbow to make it flush to the pan.*NOTE: The elbow should be parallel to the ground.
TIP: Slow adjustments will keep you from buy another elbow.
6) Make a 1/4 inch mounting hole approx. 1 inch from the lip.
NOTE: Mounting hole is approx. on the pic and you may not get the mounting hole on the first try, Don't worry, just lengthen the hole.
7) Mount the elbow with the pan mounting bolt and a modified washer. (bent a curve to match the elbow, using a plier and a hammer)This will give the elbow a secure mount.

8)
Measure the length of the tube from the base of the elbows. It should be approx. 4 1/2 inches and 9 1/2 inches. Mount the flex connector with the tube. NOTE: Insure that the tube reaches the clamps.
Do not tighten the clamps at this time, You will need to make adjustments.

9) Place the tube assembly into the lower and upper elbow.
Mark the tube near the flex connector. This is to insure the measurements and angles are correct. Take the tube out and tighten down the clamps.*NOTE: As depicted in the photo, the tube is at an angle for align with the elbows.
10)
File or grind away outer rim of the strainer so that it fits into the elbow.
Place plastic strainer into lower elbow.
11) Reassemble by placing the tube assembly into the lower elbow and strainer.
12) Connect the upper elbow and tighten the adapter onto the elbow with the clamp.

13) Drill a small hole into the elbow and tube and secure both with a self tapping screw. For added security, A strap mounted to the tube and engine compartment can be installed.

14)YOU'RE DONE.
Stand back and check the clearance. Make sure that the tube and elbows do not chafe against anything.
GOOD JOB! Hope you enjoy this project.
Remember: You do this project at your own risk.
Warning: If you do not cut the lower elbow, your intake will suck up anything that comes in its path, including birds, rocks, paper, etc. Also the elbow may impact the roadway and possible break, causing the loss of the mount/elbow.
For those who are worried about the engine/intake ingestion of water.(Water lock=Engine damage) I cut a 3" slit on the upper adapter, appox. 1/2" from the lip of the elbow. If the lower intake goes under water, the pressure should open this slit, allowing the weight of the water to keep it away from the upper intake elbow. (In theory)
