2004-ish: I've only done a couple of things to her. I've replaced: the waterpump, alternator, plugs and wires (AC Delco Double Platinums and Magnecores), driver's side front wheel stud, tensioner, tires, and the drivers window rollers.

Couple things that are worthy or pictures:

I got tired of looking at the battered and multi-colored air dam under the front of the car. So I pulled it, cleaned and sanded it, then put on some orange flames and flat black paint with 3 coats of clear.

Here's the window after the factory rollers (sliders really) broke.

Finally got some time on my hands so I went down to the local Home Depot and bought some PVC and wipped up my 'Poor Man's Cold Air Intake'... couple of 45 degree bends, a hockey puck and some holes drilled in the air box are my temporary fix to not having a cold air intake.

For a long while I had been have trouble with an intermittent squeak coming from the accessories on the engine. Everything seemed fine, but it was annoying the heck out of me. Then one day it was really bad and the belt was trying to jump off of the AC compressor pulley. So I got it home and when taking the belt off, I noticed the tensioner was very rough in its action and didnt feel very smooth. Sure enough, I replaced it and the squeak is now gone. $39.99 from Pep Boys!

Update: Fall 2005:
Just turned 56,000 miles. Now got new brake pads on the front, Performance Friction Carbon Metallics from Autozone. Great stopping power, although they do make the runout on the front rotors more noticeable. I think one of my next mods will be some Raybestos rotors or something of the like.

Also lubed up the back brakes. A good idea for everyone. The rear calipers are supposed to float in and out on pins. My bottom pin on both back calipers was frozen with a slight coat of rust. (ONLY 55,000 miles) Managed to get them apart and wirebrush, then re-lube. Noticed some difference in brake feel too!

9/13/06 Another visual mod, I pulled off the side molding to give her a smoother look. I love the look of, propably gain a tenth from smoother aerodynamics too!! Just kidding.

4-22-07 Had a slightly rough idle lately. Things that most people wouldnt notice at all, but I do. So I was pokin around and definitely need to replace some vacuum lines. Low miles makes no difference, our cars are still old, haha.

4-29-07 Had some time on my hands and Ive been toying with the idea of painting some of the trim white to match the car. Did the front wheel-well trim first. 1 thick coat of white and 2 thick coats of clear after cleaning thoroughly and sanding...

5-27-07 Decided to get rid of the bullseye hood ornament. So when you remove it (just one nut), then pull it apart, heres what youve got...

This is the part I kept.
So then I cut out a little piece of aluminum in the shape of the opening and JB Welded it in flush. Then sanded it down...

Then Painted with a bunch of coats of my favorite rattlecan brand with clear coat of course.

Photoshop is our friend... what you all think of this?

UPDATE: 6-21-07 18" Borbet wheels arrived!! These things are light! Stock 9c1's with tires weigh about 52 lbs... these with tires weigh 53 lbs! Test fit... better pictures later...


Can anyone say lowering springs 3 times fast? My wallet cant :-( .... yet.

UPDATE: 6-23-07 Well I performed some shade-tree body work, haha. Had a deep dent/crease on the drivers fender, and a dent/crease on the driver's rear wheel well. Came out alright, Ill have to repaint the front fender completely... tried to paint just the affected area with base, then feather out the clear. Looked good, but started bubbling this morning, haha... oh well, Ill borrow someone's garage and do it. Here's an after shot...

UPDATE: 9-15-07 How it actually looks dropped on Hotchkis springs and Monroe Severe Service shocks. Still settling...
