"Halfway Up The Mountain"

Well, after a little browsing, I found some pictures of a truck same as mine, just lifted already. It's right about the same height I'll be going for before springing the major cash for my massive lift.

Pretty isn't it? I'm planning on a slightly brighter green for paint however, not quite so dark.

Now for TIRES...I"ll be going with 38.5x14.50-16.5 Super Swamper Thornbirds. Decently quiet on the road, or so I'm told, and great traction and all around performance off-road. Sand, mud, dirt, they're just awesome.

Not bad, eh?

Well, all of this lift will be accomplished with a 6" Skyjacker lift and a 3" Performance Accessories body lift. Body lift's main reason is to expose the frame, so I can get better angles for the exocage to be welded to the frame. I'm working on mapping the exocage out in Paint (primitive visual program yeah, but I haven't had the time to figure out PhotoShop or anything else) and once I get it just the way I want it, I'll post it. Also with that will go a custom front bumper, that design is kinda drawn into the exo stuff too. The headlights will be relocated into the bumper to make it pass headlight height laws with the large lift that will be coming, and 7" H4 halogen off-road lights will reside in the headlight buckets. I'm thinking either Dodge Ram headlights, or maybe the thinner Chevy lights, like out of a fairly recent Lumina, or even an early to mid 90's Chevy/GMC truck, long, thin, and composite. Whichever I go with, they will be recessed into the bumper prolly about 1/8"-1/4" to protect them off-road. Either way, a winch will be put inside the bumper, haven't decided on what brand, but it will most likely be a 12,000lb capacity, just cause this thing is gonna weigh a LOT. A lot of this stuff I can find pictures for, like the shape of the headlights and maybe a rough idea of what the bumper will look like, so when I get around to it, I'll post them too.

Thanks for the comments. im not exactly sure of the dimensions of the box, but i know it is way to small for the 12s. Definitely get 10s because the box would not need to be as big. Go with the 383 on ur truck. Later

Impressive numbers from a diesel. But even the price of that gas has gotten out of hand. No thanks the Uncle Sam. It sounds like you've done your home work on the improvements you want. All it takes is time & money. Usually when you have the one, you don't have the other. I've got another site if you're interested in seeing it? Later. RJ

Hey. Thanks for stopping in my site. Are you dead set on the 8" lift with those massive axils? I ask cause one thing comes to mind when I see your truck, "Project Copperhead." You couldn't handle your truck cranking out about 700 ponies with smoke just pouring off the back tires? True not smart with gas prices these days but since the truck would only be a weekend toy to show and go it wouldn't be SO bad. Besides hondas were made to drive to work daily and abuse. Later.

How about a 2004R or 700R4 trans behind that V8 for some better MPG? Nice project. Though. My girlfriend loves these style trucks. She wants a big block version. Right after she wins the lotto. Later.
