March '13 Update: I just made the cut for Hot Rod Magazine's Drag Week in Sept so this project needs to move at warp speed now. I'll take this thing if I have to but I'd much rather drive the '85, and it needs A LOT of work before it can go out the driveway, let alone 1,700 miles. The '85 should allow me to make the 32-car daily driver field. Last year the break off point was only an avg time of 13.00's. Right now I have absolutely no more space to squirrel parts so until a fair amount of them start getting bolted back in this '01 I can't tear anything off the '85. I've got the undercarriage completely done. After the the underneath cleaned and scuffed I sprayed PPG's DP90LF and then Sem Product's HR010, Hot Rod black. It turned out very nice and it's time to reassemble. The engine cradle, rear axle, control arms, springs and driveshaft were all sprayed with Magnet Paint's Chassis Saver. Very durable stuff.
