gonnawaxu's 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia This is my car in progress. I bought this car in 2002 from a friend, at first I didnt even like it, but he had me drive it and then I had to have it. I gave $200.00 for 2 coupes (one with the motor/various parts out) a vert body (striped) and other numerous parts. I went to pick up the vert body but it was to late, it went to the scrap yard.

This car has all the trim removed the holes filled, and the front hood line smoothed.

Right now our car is in the body shop getting some work done and a fresh coat of paint and some killer clearcoat.

8/15/06 The painter went nuts, didnt mask the interior, we are currently cleaning paint off of everything that it will come off of, having to buy new parts, gonnawaxu's 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghiagonnawaxu's 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Shaved the bumpers, front turn lights and horn hole. gonnawaxu's 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghiait is looking great now.gonnawaxu's 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

gonnawaxu's 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia The interior was starting to decay, so I redid it with all new materials, Including viynl headliner, dash, highback bucket seats, new pad and carpet (custom, not generic), new front and side window seals, new door and side panels and new pedal covers.

gonnawaxu's 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia When I first got the car it would hit the ground. I raised it about 3 inches, i need to lower it a little now. I found out the vw suspension is ingenious.

gonnawaxu's 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia After about 3 months the crankshaft broke. So, me and my bro/inlaw rebuilt it. we had no idea about vw's. We got a crank out of the parts pile and a gasket kit and now it has a fresh 1600.

4-16-05, This weekend I installed a grant steering wheel, the stereo and did some misc. repairs.

This is the other ghia as it is now, It needs more body work than the other, but it still has potential.
