As pretty much all of ya'll have figured out...this ain't no Hummer. More of a Hummer killer, BWHAHAHA. this is a 1983 Oshkosh HEMTT (Heavy Equipment Mobile Tactical Truck) LHS (Load Handling System). There are many different configurations, this one picks up "flatracks" (whats on the back under the Hummer in the pictures) VIA hydraulics to move things...this one is named the "Pavement Princess" and she is one of the best in our brigade. I have taken her from being a bombed out POS to a REALLY nice truck (you should see the other ones...) in the 9 months i have been in Iraq thus far. I am really gonna hate leaving her behind in a few months, but alas i must go! She is powered by a mid-mounted Detroit Diesel 89TV92A engine. It is rated at 450 HP and about 1,350-1,400 lb ft of torque...she DOES have some power. I normally play my Mp3 player while on convoy through tiny speakers i have and in all my miles have dedicated a song to her..."She's Got Balls" by AC/DC. This song PERFECTLY describes my "Princess"...anyhow, enough talking, ENJOY the pics!!
